My favourite player of all time and a bloody genius off-field.

So happy to have him back at the club.

I am a bit confused though. Is he Senior Assistant, or is he Midfield Coach? It sounds like he has both responsibilities?
That's right I think. Voss had the dual roles when he was with us.

Schofield's tenure as an assistant did overlap with Voss'. You are probably right, but I remember Voss getting credit for bringing Boak back into the midfield.
Well the senior assistant does have say in that.

At the B&F he thanked Schoey for getting him back in the midfield so possibly a joint act.

So Carr liked Brodie and got the best out of him, but Dew is now the line coach in charge of him. Will be interesting to see if we can get the best out of him.

I am wondering why a player who has been in the system at two clubs for 7 seasons has only played 54 games and 24 of those were in 2022. I think 2022 was Josh Carr's last season as an assistant at Freo. Maybe the answer is that Carr sees something that others don't see ? Outside of that 2022 season Brodie's best season tally was 8 games in 2018 and again in 2019. As you post, it will be very interesting to see what happens under Stuart Dew.

I remember us playing Freo in 2022, and thinking that Brodie was playing a lot better than I expected him to. It irritated me during the game. His numbers that year stack up well. Better than anything we’ve seen from Drew.

That’s why I’m not as down on us taking a punt on him as others are.

let's face it we had some absolute provide nothing spuds on the list this year. guys who either couldn't be bothered trying or weren't capable of getting the ball more than 5-6 times a game. a guy who can come in and possibly at least play a role is a big upgrade on that.
