This is the biggest asset for me that i feel most non Hawk fans bashing him are missing.Didn't expect thi to be honest but he's got a pretty rare ability to play tall and small and be an outlet/rebounding player.
Amazing pickup.
Was he like this at St Kilda? This is the biggest asset for me that i feel most Hawk fans bashing him are missing.
Need him to play on Jeremy Cameron? Done
Need him to play on Jamie Elliot? Done
Need him to take kick outs and kick lace out bullets? Done
Need him up the line to take a contested mark from a kick out? Done
Good in the air, good below his knees, good stopper, good rebounder. Just does whatever is asked of him. A more well rounded defender than most of the half backs or the key defenders. Can plug any hole.
David King is like a dense fart; swings around whichever way the wind is blowing, leaving a foul taste in your mouth, but somehow you can't get rid of him...Listening to David King this morning. Wasn't happy that Battle got selected. Not surprised with his reaction. Seems to have something against our club.
I think the aspect some fans of other sides are overlooking here is that Battle wasn't selected because he took x-number of marks or gathered y-number of possessions, he was selected because he not had multiple goals kicked on him once in the entire season, and that was by Jeremy Cameron, the runaway Coleman medalist, who kicked two. I think other supporters are just looking at possessions gathered etc as if they are comparing midfielders, not players whose primary role is stop opposition forwards from scoring. You’ve got to love saints fans, sooking about Wilkie getting overlooked for battle, despite finishing 12th and giving up 90 points per game on average seem to be have somehow convinced themselves they were robbed of having 2 players in the all Australian defence![]()

Yes, he was great last year as well. He even had better disposal efficiency, averaged more contested marks, intercepts and 1%'s.Was he like this at St Kilda?
I knew he was good but I genuinely thought he was a class below Wilkie adn those types.
But Nick Vlastuin....

Better yet Reuben Ginbey according to our favourite Eagles poster. But Nick Vlastuin....![]()
