I don’t think it’s official until the contract is submitted to the AFL to be validated. At which point the media would find out.

Fantastic news, four more years of watching Lord Meek smash and bash 
He's got a big test this week against O'Brien who is in some very good form.
As always if his Meekship can control the ruck we are a long way towards winning, he's that important to us.

I rarely post on ex dockers players on non Freo boards but here it goes.
I don't hate the bloke, I always knew he was gonna be good if given the choice.
He is similar to Sam Jacobs. If you look at Sam Jacobs AFL career, he started at Carlton. Mind you, we was behind the likes of Kreuzer and Warnock at the time.
He spent 4 years at Carlton from 2007-2010. He played 17 games there.
Goes to back to his home state to play for the Adelaide crows. Ends up playing 184 games from 2011-2019. Leaves the crows as a free agent as a 31 year old to GWS on a cheap 2 year deal.
Jacobs retires after one season at GWS.
Meek looks like going in a similar career path.
Meek played 15 games in 5 seasons from 2018-22 with the dockers. Should of got a debut game back in 2019. He didn't debut until 2021.
He was behind the likes of Sandilands and Darcy and Jackson.
He got a chance of going back to his home state. Hawks got him In.
I said this to HairyO on the Meek trade thread.
Hawks will either have Meek for either all of his career or most of it.
Hawks will definately get their 180 to 200 odd games out of him.
I won't be shocked if he spent his final year some where else or ends his career at the hawks.
