Its pain me to say this but"

We played shit due to your gameplan so well done you really shut us down. That umpiring decision was crap but we didnt deserve to be anywhere near you at all last night.

And to the guys that came down last night specifically the ones sitting around me you were good. passionate about the crows as i was the magpies and was a nice change after the old bloke from sydney king hit from behind last week (excuse was that i started to many collingwood chants and was a disrespectful little C**t:rolleyes:), you guys have a decent set of supporters who know the rules even if you call the umpire REF.

I cant say i hope to see you at the G next week (not that im worried we can beat anyone at the G0 but i really want to play sydney again.

But still well done fellas

Do you mean the decision where Massie caught Buckley cold, applied a good tackle but Buckley dived forward and suckered the umpire into paying a "push in the back" free to Buckley instead of a deadset "holing the ball" against Buckley?

You are right. That decision was indeed crap.

I meant the wakelin one but i was trying to be nice here mate, how about the torney delibrearte th wasnt paid or the fifty to thoams thatwasnt give when the ball fell two meters short when it was thrown back to him.

I was trying to be nice but you just held up a lot of adelaide stereotypes right there

You held up a lot of Pies stereotypes.

In your "trying to be nice" you couldn't help but include an insinuation that the Crows won only because of a single debatable umpiring decision, when in fact the only reason Collingwood even got close near the end was because of an equally debatable decision earlier on that went the other way.

Pies fans are such sooks. You had the game in Melbourne, you had the better of the free kicks, you had Rocca get off and you had a possible top 4 finish to play for as incentive, and you lost.

Fair and square.

In then end, even though without doubt there were dodgy umpiring decisions going either way, they did not influence the result, despite your implications.

1. i said we didnt deserve to be close meaning the umpiring decison did not matter i was being humble the decison pissed me off but we should of been 10 goals down then not 7 points

2. Our home ground is the MCG ****ed if i know why this game wasnt played there. inn fact Adelaide have played at TD 4 four times including last night Collingwood three also last included. Also we have played you in adelaide so of course this game was in melbourne

3. Rocca got a reprimand so he didnt really get off as he now has 91.something hanging over his head.

I said you played well and we should of been no where near it yet you still come in here and bag me christ man take the win and the praise and be happy

Thanks, buddy. Good luck in the finals!

I personally thought Thomas tried to suck the umpire into paying that 50m penalty. IMO the throw was going alright and Thomas deliberately took a couple of steps back. I think the umpire thought the same thing from what I could see.

Thought the umpires made some poor decision each way. As much as the Wakelin free probably shouldn't have been paid I was calling pretty loudly for it as it was right in front of me and looked very deliberate. Probably under the circumstances shouldn't have been paid, but to the letter of the rule the free was definately there.

Hopefully we don't have to play you guys next week at the G. Would much rather play Hawthorn, but I'm not orried either way. There will be a real incentove to win through the first week as I would expect the sides that lose the Qualifying Finals will be very beatable.

OK, fair enough. Crows fans too were pissed off by some decisions.

When exactly have the Pies EVER had to play a round 22 match as an away game? Why is it only interstate sides that have to play away on the eve of finals? Why couldn't the first Pies vs Crows match this year have been at the MCG, and the round 22 match at AAMI?

3. Rocca got a reprimand so he didnt really get off as he now has 91.something hanging over his head.

Still a bit soft for whacking someone in the face. Pies do that a lot. I was reminded of the hit on Edwards in the 2002 PF.

The Pies need to be taught that the skill of spoiling involves trying to punch the ball, not the opposition.

I said you played well and we should of been no where near it yet you still come in here and bag me christ man take the win and the praise and be happy

Excuse me? Whose board is this, anyway? http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7813143&postcount=1

Besides, I didn't bag you. I agreed with your post.

You had the option to simply accept the underlying point gracefully without any loss of face, but you chose instead to whinge about it, and thereby you underlined the fact that you were making excuses for your side on our board.

Haha yeah the bloke calling them the ref and calling everyone his son was Irish i believe.. I went with my father in law and wife, both Collingwood supporters, although the missus barracked 50/50 wearing a pies scarf and a crows beanie lol.

Yeah thanks Optimax, we'll take your comments in good spirit.

Just on the Torney vs Wakelin deliberate out of bounds, I think there was a subtle difference. Torney had to handball to avoid being caught holding the ball and in the position he was in could only go in one direction ie. forward, which happened to be toward the boundary line. Wakelin had a choice though whether to kick it out or not so thats why he was pinged.

Mind you its taken me overnight to think of that whereas the umpire presumably summed it up in a split second so either he's very astute, got lucky or was wrong.

You could argue that Torney was being tackled, and therefore required to dispose of the ball, which he did in the only direction that was possible ... whereas Wakelin just kicked the ball straight toward the boundary line in a situation where he was not required to even touch it as he wasn't being tackled.

That was the umpires justification, more or less. I'm not sure if this is correct though.

Yeah that was my thinking as Torney had to get rid of the ball and he was facing the boundary line so the natural flow is forward, so he got the benefit of the doubt.

Wakelin on the other hand did not have possesion of the ball. He chose to kick it directly out of bounds and made no attempt at all to hide this, and was not under pressure to dispose the ball as he did not have possesion.
