Just one thing though...where the ******** is Gehrig?

Probably having a quiet beer with Tredders while expressing his disbelief that they weren't named but Joel Bowden was.

I see that he is the CHF. Well done Pav. If McPharlin doesn't get Mark of the year he was robbed by the Victorian Media beat up of a mark McPharlin copied in Round 21 against the Saints that seemed to go unnoticed
Robbins has it in the bag.

Well done to Croad, Pavlich, Clment and Hodge on making AA,

No way in hell. McPharlin did the exact kind of mark in Round 21, no media beat up whatsoever. And his mark in the first Derby this year was as best as they come. If Robbins wins, like i said, it's because of the Victorian media beat-up!

Ah the good old conspiracy theory.

People are sticking in the barbs about Clement getting an AA and Freo discarding him. I am still of the opinion that at the time of his move, Parker was the better option of the two. My conspiracy theory is that it helps to play in a Vic team to get noticed by the media.

Don't you love how Pavlich doesn't even get a mention in the AFL article about the AA team? pfft

CHF is not a very important position ......... to be selected in a back or forward pocket is the pinnacle ....

I wouldn't get too upset, the print media is not known for their skill in constructing a balanced article.

Even though Croad is lucky to be named given his last six games were mostly as a forward, I agree that Connolly did not persist with Croad back, particularly as McPharlin had already been successfully used forward in 2003 (away v. Richmond- four second half goals from memory), and this looks and quacks like demonstrably poor judgement. Maybe he was too close to the whole thing to be objective, which would be an indictment. I don't know.

I think the Croad trade had to happen to free salary cap more than anything, (even though I understand we may have just finished paying our balance to the Hawks) but I have often looked back during the course of this year and thought if there had been a way to keep him and everyone else at the time, he certainly would have had a more positive impact on this season and last than Ryley Dunn did.

No doubt in my mind that Croad was media (and anti-Victorian Freo-centric crowd) hung drawn and quartered during 2003, unfairly a lot of the time, as he continually impressed me with his work output when struggling for form. That is always the way to turn it around.

Happy enough at the time with the original trade for pick 10 though. I remember saying at the time that we probably shouldn't trade him, because even if he had another poor year, there would still be takers for his raw power and (yes) potential. Fingers crossed on Dunn. Good size and football brain.
