Alright Futbolista getting in before everyone else down. How does Ryda Luke play and why is he secretly Freos best NGA prospect this year
He's having a blinder. 8 goals until half time....all be it a few have been out the back running into an open goal. Good agility, strong pair of hands, not overly tall but seemingly a very straight kick with 8.0.

I need to see more though. Is this a one off?

Kicked 2 last week
He’s 187 so decent size.
Also 80kg so not really skinny either.

Interesting prospect

They’ve also brought Ryda Luke back. Another one of my favs
Let's give a tip of the hat to SaintLoopy for giving us the word earlier in the week.

8 goals is a great effort for South.

Difficult game to assess the best.

Apart from Ryda Luke, South Fremantle had dominant players - Riley Stannard (25), Fred Rodriguez (29 + 1 goal), Toby Whan (25 + 2 goals), Lucas Robinson (22 + 2 goals), Zac Godwin (21), Lucas Cattalini (15 + 9 marks), Jacob Donald (23), Max Thomas (18 + 1 goal), Byron Foster (17 + 7 marks + 14 hit outs), as well as Health Wilson and Harvey McCrystal, who were good down back.

I thought Leon Kickett (14 + 2 goals) was electrifying for Swan Districts, McCartney Murdoch (9 + 27 hit outs) tried hard. Blake Kelly was his usual workmanlike self with 22. Cooper Rullo provided some run and Soren Feast really did all he could despite being under siege. Kicked a few flour bags though.

Whan and Rodriguez where brillant so many inside 50's between them Whan kicking was great again
Having to go so far to get coffee sucked
Ryda Luke was handed most of his goals has no defensive side all attacking so I have question mark on him
Tyler Williams delivery to forwards was good, Kickett was awesome not much else for Swans apart from Blake Kelly

Subi players are getting more and more frustrated at the umpiring and as they do the free kick tally gets more lopsided 18-5 right now. And in my opinion a sad exhibition of umpiring.

In fact, this game is getting out of hand. The umpires have completely lost the plot and in turn so have the Subi players. Dust ups everywhere.

I thought Kelly was great in the first half but really dropped out of the game in the 2nd. Kickett was by far the best for Swans. For SF Luke was very good as people have said but I thought Donald was the best for South’s. Foster looked very clean & Fred really showed his attacking style & also very strong inside.

Scrappy start by both sides in the Peel v EF game......good mark by Nomlatyu to get the opening goal of the game for EF....followed by Boniwell kicking the second to enable EF to skip out to a early lead. Carrello and Evans getting their hands on the footy in the first for EF.....a terrible turnover in EF defence gifted Peel's opening goal to Faithfull.....Number 9 for Peel working hard in Ben Robinson...don't know many of the Peel youngsters, being an EF fan, so apologies in advance

My man Nomlatyu having an influence mate?

Kicked a couple of goals, looks very chilled in how he goes about it. TBH on this match alone, I think both teams will be struggling to make finals. EF are reliant of the skipper Grylls, Carrello and Evans through the middle, up forward Ormerod and Boniwell are probably a few cms short to cause much aerial mischief, thus leaving Nomlatyu to be the lone focal point up front for EF. Up back McManus, Nathan and McCormack do a lot rebounding. As for Peel, they are reliant on the silkiness of Hart up front, with Jakovich, Birch and Mathey keeping busy, but a lot basic skill errors and poor decision making is costing Peel hitting the scoreboard, actually both sides.

Looking a pretty strong WA group this year

Cody Curtin
Sam Swadling
Toby Whan
Fred Rodriguez
Ryda Luka
Wes Walley (Not as big on yet as others)
Matt Becker

Some top picks overall from that group

Then for state side purposes Kelly, Toby Jones well developed and underage well developed guys like Lucas Robinson, H.Banfield, Jai Debano ect

Also the Lecras, Bewicks from WP seem to be going very nicely aswell

Back to finish the write up(well biased attempt) on the EF /Peel colts game. In the end EF winning pretty quite easy, Peel struggling to hit the scoreboard, not too sure if it's a young squad, injured squad, or just one of those years where it's not a very strong squad. EF aren't no finals certs themselves, definitely will find life more difficult v the stronger squads, which look like Cl, SF and WP from all reports. Nothing flashy in the midfield, Carrello is a smooth operator, but no Rodriguez, Whan or Swadling, but who is I guess? Grylls is an accumulator, works hard up n down the park, and Evans finds a lot of the footy, gets a caught a bit too often for my liking, but none the less works hard at the coal face. Up front Nomlatyu provides a target, comes across quite nonchalant at times in the contest, but very athletic and a nice left foot. Ormerod is an under ager, so playing as EF FF is a tall ask, especially standing at 192/3 cm, while Boniwell, obviously a good size, but just not tall enough for a KP up front to worry any opposition defences aerially. Up back EF look a tad undersized, but have good rebounding sorts in Nathan, McCormack and McManus.....with overager in Jye Sander providing some height at 196cm.

Peel TBH rely heavily on Hart to spark them up front, very silky, an underager, so a lot to ask for the young fella, especially this year. No one from Peel really caught my eye, as they only had kicked 1 goal till well into the last quarter, lots of triers, but lots of turnovers as well. Best 8 on the ground for me - Carrello (EF) gets 8 , McManus (EF) - 7 , Grylls (EF) - 6 , Nathan (EF) - 5 , Evans (EF) - 4 , Birch (Peel) - 3, Summerell (EF) - 2 , Becker (Peel) - 1

Apologies for the EF bias.

Fred Rodriguez slotted back into colts footy with ease after a game at league level then the Academy game. A subtle performance where a lot of his work was done on the inside. However, on many occasions he was able to 1/2 and become the inside outside mid and with his super delivery skills on both left and right foot South forwards were always going to get forward supply.

Thank you to noobermensch for supporting footy Australia wide and providing these player in focus videos. Don't forget to click on the vid, watch it on full screen and log on to his channel to comment.

Love at the 3m mark where you've got some kid talking about his missus in the backgorund

I've been waiting for this highly touted East Perth/PSA midfielder to actually get on the park. Strongly built, taller than one might think at 185cm, competitive and boasting a kick that is arguably up there with Toby Whan for distance and power.

He showed glimpses of what he can do on the weekend against a strong Claremont outfit although he was a bit rusty coming back from injury. But the glimpses were extremely impressive.

Thanks to noobermensch for putting this player in focus video together. His youtube channel is top notch so don't forget to go to the channel and drop a like and a comment.

Judd Marcello second game back for West Perth has a lot of eastern states recruiters interested in him so good he is back and in from should be WA state side

I will also say I am a big Oscar Wills fan from Claremont his ball use is elite, so just on that i think he can get drafted

WA state side with Wills on one half back slot and Jake Caton on the other will give hardness in Caton and Great use in Wills
good combination

I see your point for sure about Jake Caton (EP). Very talented....rate him big time

But Luke Carrello (EF) and Rydn Rae Anthonysz (S) have closed the gap for that role - by enough? Who knows?

Don't get me wrong, I rate all three. What a wonderful thing it is that WA have genuine choices this year.

Just wondering why Clancy Dennis doesn’t get a mention as an overager? 28/12/06 birthdate, 4 days off being his legitimate draft year.

Seems strange not included in WA squad as “overager”.
