Im going to bid on Beau Addinsall
TerryFilk bid is with you

Bid at pick 16 to match needs 832 points - Gold Coast have no picks of points value left and are already 220 points in deficit after matching the Uwland bid

Pick 18 (currently held by Essendon) is 836 points and is the lowest pick that can match the bid on its own without going into further deficit

Gold Coast also don’t hold a F1 pick as it was traded as part of the Petracca deal

In short, the Suns are in a bit of a pickle

West Coast aren’t likely to do it but the benefit of @ArdentEagle going ham with early bids not only pushes Brisbane and Gold Coast to pay full sticker price but the eagles later picks (34,41,53,58) are currently sitting at 29,35,44,49.
Why aren't West Coast likely to do it? Seems like a no brainer.

squashface - I was expecting you to go Dovaston as GWS cannot get enough of the small forwards and Lachy was the perfect person to benefit from some tutelage from the master of small angry sh1t stirring forward in Toby Green. I was so confident that I had my posting for Farrow prepared. If I was any other club, I would have gone Dovaston. With Kako last year and 2 more small forwards likely to be selected this year, that positional need is more than covered.

It is at this stage for this draft, it starts to become an ability to list manage. I anticipate the divergence of board orders will start to appear and the good news is that there are load of everything available and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

So I go to my next target and knowing that Essendon need speed from defence, with pick 18, Essendon select

Oscar Taylor - Eastern Rangers, 182 cm defender

SNAPSHOT: “A daring defensive distributor who takes on the game with his raw speed and slick foot skills.” – Michael Alvaro

The term ‘bolter’ and Oskar Taylor go hand-in-hand. An outstanding Coates Talent League campaign alone has seen the speedy Eastern Ranges defender surge into first round contention, despite being overlooked for Vic Metro selection mid-year. Taylor was a consistent figure for the premiers, playing 17 of a possible 19 games and being named among his side’s bests on nine occasions.

For his efforts, Taylor claimed second place in the Ranges’ best and fairest, and is one of a handful of prospect from the region likely to be selected in the top 20 come draft time. It comes on the back of a rather unheralded junior career, where Taylor turned out only five times as a bottom-ager last year having debuted in Round 15. He was a role player, but turned into a genuine star.

An eye-catching type with his daring style on the rebound, Taylor had his potential recognised with a state draft combine invite. That was soon upgraded to a national combine call-up, promoted alongside Eastern teammate and fellow bolter Sullivan Robey. There, Taylor showcased his speed deliver two top-10 results, including the quickest 20m sprint time of 2.823 seconds.

Thanks to RMC for the write up

I was about to message the Lions (ThePuma #9) for the next pick but alas, I remember that the Crows were not prepared to give that pick up for the Sneezer. I think it is fair to say because of that, the Lions will take a defecit into 2026.

Carbine Chaos - over to you.

Hey Astrerix, seeing as you’re now hooked up with Essendon, have you experimented with any form of supplements during your time there?

I would have gone with Dovaston had he been on the board but Melbourne selected him at 12.

Oscar Taylor is a good pick too and I would have selected him if Farrow wasn’t available.

What are you implying?

With Merrett now hiding in Arden Street, James Hird, the Prince of Peptides, invited me to join their captains coffee morning. Bombers legends catch up with Merrett

Since I am not a coffee drinker, James recommended another tonic for me. Here is the clip from meeting. Please note that I even wore the Drug Rats colours to fit in

After some consideration
Sydney can't pass up the upside of Blake Thredgold with this selection.

With Tom McCartin being injured a lot and Dane rampe almost in a retirement home.

Project back seems like the way to go.

Sydney selects Blake Thredgold with pick 19.

Wooshaa you're up mate

RIP Tyler Williams career if he has the same luck as most Geelong 1st round picks.

Cats are amazing at the guns they draft late.

But they can't his the side of a barn with a 1st round pick.
Play him in the 2s for a year and then have him break out 2/3 yrs just in time for west coast to come for him with 4 first rounders.

To match the bid on Tylah Williams at pick 20, West Coast need 673 points

Picks 29 and 35 have a combined value of 817 points which is a surplus of 144 points, equivalent to pick 46

So 29 and 35 with 46 coming back if ArdentEagle chooses to match

I'm going to get flamed for this but I'm going to pass. I just think it's too early for my liking.
