You guys are the kings of cherry-picking stats though, until it immediately disproves your point, so I thought you'd like that one.
Us guys, lol.
Im just calling you out on your inconsistency. Nothing more, nothing less. You want to have a rational conversation, happy to have one.

You obviously don’t watch enough of my team, and I don’t expect you to.
But Young was definitely up to be delisted halfway thru the year. He played a handful of decent games and earnt a new contract. For a guy who’s 27 and played less than 40 games that’s a great outcome.

It is true we offered him another contract. Just like we offered Jack Graham another contract. I’m not sure either signals much on how we valued either to be honest.

But I’ve always said he makes your backline incrementally better for three years as you don’t have to play Brock in your side.
Tyler young did the right thing and went to the eagles where he has another 3-4 year career
Gibcus , Balta , Gray , Miller , Brown there really was no position for him unless we had injuries and he would have been playing VFL. At least he is getting some good coin and extending his career

I wish the kid well and his financial future secured

I disagree with The Gun and Toon.

A fit Waterman gives them better structure up forward even with the loss of Ryan. It was a shame they punted him for nothing though. Owies when fit plays that role.

Old man Yeo comes in to support Harley in the middle and makes a difference because let’s be honest it’s Harley and no one else in there at the moment. The three delisted retreads come in and play through the middle for an instant upgrade on the 2025 midfield. One of them will probably be on the list in 2027, but it remains to be seen which one takes their opportunity.

Young was delist material halfway thru last year but played a handful of good games to show he is much better than Brock, but that’s not too difficult. He gives them three good years if he can stay fit.

Chesser won’t be a massive loss short term but he’s young with potential and plays a role they don’t have. Blues did well to pick him up for not much.

They are better in attack, midfield and defence short term over last year.

I expect them to be playing 8-10 28+ year olds to complement the youngsters and the retreads.

Still plenty of holes in the list but they will get better next year. I expect 4-5 wins and the great unwashed to declare this as a forward step.

Not bad assessment tbh

Only have 10 28+ year olds on the whole list so assuming some injuries in that grou, that number would generally be a bit lower each week

Fair.

Yeo has averaged less than ten games a year in the last 6 years. I’m sceptical he will play more than that next year but will improve the side when he’s there.

The rest have been fairly durable but at that age you’d think a couple would have some stints out of the side with injury at some point.

Ryan was your 2nd highest goal kicker with no replacement ready to go
pretty much never offers anything outside of a highlight a game and the occasional spark in the middle. With waterman back we more than make up for his output + whoever replaces him in the side.
Chesser played very well last year in the games i seen and your supporters were jumping with joy ( until he wanted to leave)
He was a good outside option for about 3 games. A lot of the positivity was about him getting his body right and it being a launching pad for 26. Not concerned when we have better prospects lined up to play the wing or half back anyway.
Allen was your captain and injured and probably a good reason why your team could not convert
Genuinely useless last year even when he was on the field
McGovern - As you mentioned massive loss
Irreplaceable but I rate Young so hopefully post-Gov Edwards and Young can add up to pre-Gov Edwards and Sandy Brock at least

Tylar Young not up to the level I'm afraid. West Coast need to find some key defenders, as well as a midfield bull/accumulator.

Way to soon to write him off, WC got smashed in the middle in the first half wouldn't have mattered who played on King.

Upside is they have found rucks for the future and should be able to shoot Flynn off into the sun which makes them a better team. Also good game from Bo Allan.

Bo Allan had a decent second half. First half he was trash.

Their rucks for the future are still 3 years away from being ready. Need someone playing ruck until then.

Thrown the kitchen sink at English and Cameron the last 2 years and neither wanted a sniff of it. Really need to look into a perennial back up. Cannot go into another season in '27 with Flynn

we can go shopping up at Gabbatoir again this year. Isle 3, ZZ. Isle 5, Neale. Zac Bailey, $2.5m for first 3 years.

We already have Richmond coloured clothing line at the store, we can add new line with lions colours.

Too early call is that our list strategy going into the off-season needs to be KPD (Edwards possible retirement at this rate, Bazzo far off it, Brock not fitting the structure right now) and stop-gap Ruck ahead of anything else.

1. Genuine KPD(s)
2. Ruck that isn't bottom 1 in the comp
3. Lachie Neale
4. Modern pressure small forward(s)

Fred Rodriugez the 211cm 26 year old sure is an interesting read...

You think thats crazy? Have you seen his change in appearance?

The Eagles have shown green shoots alot quicker than I thought, which is great to see. They should be out of their rebuild by the end of this draft, and they just need to have the culture down pat to where they can keep the Vic kids they have drafted and also get some good WA players to go home.

They have most areas covered on the ground, with maybe a bit more midfield depth to come in.

Come on down Dan......

Not maybe. That's probably the weakest midfield in competition when Yeo is not there. And get a decent ruck. Despite Mini saying "rucks don't grow on trees". KPD would be handy too.

Number 1s are either heavily contracted, cost too much, or wouldn’t want to play for us.
I’d be asking the question of young KPDs who have a couple of years development under their belt that can’t get a senior game.

Harry O’Farrell has probably been overtaken by Dean and will never play ahead of Weitering

James Barrat is still yet to debut with Wilkie, Silvagni and probably Tauru ahead of him.

Busslinger would essentially come for free but obviously there are reasons he’s being kept out of the side.

I’d love to make a big play for Noah Mraz but can’t see him leaving with Barrass retiring in 2-3 years leaving him a clear path to the spot.

Wil Dawson can’t get into the North lineup but IMO is a very good player.

The GF winning side of 2030 would be

FB: Hough, Ginbey, Lindsay
HB: McCarthy, ???, Starcevich
C: Davis, Reid, Allan
HF: Murdock, Waterman, ???
FF: CDT, Shanahan, Newton
R: A.Reid, Duursma, ???
I/C: Gross, Hewett, T.Williams, Robertson, ???

Think we are 4 best 23 players short. Not too concerned with ruck situation. We just need a stopgap for the time being as both CDT/A.Reid are 2 years away from being able to take that on themselves. We need a defensive half forward badly, we also need a CHB and a star midfielder.
