This is my 'bad day' song I guess. Always leaves me feeling better and stronger. Not the greatest 30STM song but really raw and builds superbly.

Yeah. Like this alot.
And the line "got back up again" is meaningful to me. Cos you've got to - no matter what life throws at u.
We really do have to watch what we listen to. As great as a piece of music might be - if it makes u feel down u should probably avoid it... Here ends my lecture for tonight..

Bastille is fantastic. I got into them because, while I wasn't a huge fan of Pompeii, I just couldn't get it out of my head and decided I'd look up some of their other stuff. They have some amazing songs. Hooked on this one at the minute.

Birdy's cute as hell. Igloo is delusional and thinks she's "plain". Pfft. Amazing voice too.

Some stuff that Vevo has gotten me onto...

Don't think you'll like that one but I'm addicted haha.

As for your music:
Don't mind the Blink cover. It's quite a bit slower than I expected, and while I actually like a lot of slow stuff, it just doesn't suit the song imo. Not bad though. Good voice.

As I said, I like Mayday Parade. Have heard that song quite a bit. Really like it.

The Huang one is waaaaay too autotuned for my liking. When it's used for pitch correction I'm fine, but the second the voice wavers from normal to robotic I'm out (there are some exceptions depending on the music, but I can't stand it in pop as the main voice).

Of course I like some Killers' stuff! The three you've mentioned, Somebody Told Me, Bones, and I really dig this one, Sam's Town, the Abbey Road version

Indie music is where it's at! I used to absolutely despise it but recently I'm branching more and more into it. A lot of the stuff I get stuck in my head seems to be indie (and Ed Sheeran).

As a music guy I'm guessing you have a soft spot for perfect harmonies like I do, so I have to show you these guys:

They do some absolutely incredible covers. Just born to sing together.

Can't get enough Imagine Dragons at the moment either. A mate went to see them the other night while I was doing assignments. I hate him.

Totally jealous of you going to see 30STM by the way. Amazing live by all accounts.

Godspeed is post rock, Mountain Goats are amazing acoustic stuff from what i've heard, Funeral for a Friend fluctuates, i've only got the album Tales Don't Tell Themselves, but i'd put that as one of my favourite albums of all time. Great songs on that one.

These guys are amazing, so tight with their harmonies. But for harmonies you can't go past the originals, the Beach Boys. This is one of the best songs ever.


I was going to go to Imagine Dragons! But by the time I found they were coming out, the tickets had sold out... I'm pretty sure there are still some 30STM tickets out if you want to grab them, they're $70 for a Rod Laver show, pretty good price IMO.

See i've got into the habit of picking what bands to listen to. If I know one of my mates is a total hardcore/screamo fan, i'll avoid what he suggest usually

That first song is the first track on their first album, so I started listening to it and it got me hooked. I love Anthony Green's voice, i've noticed I love high pitched guys voices I need to get into Rush actually.

I haven't heard it before, but it's a song that sounds like you've heard it before. I am going to get into them when I get time, or next time I try to procrastinate

I am so over Wonderwall and Bittersweet Symphony, some of the most overplayed songs of all time. Creep and Iris are great, so is Slide by the Goo Goo Dolls. There's a song the lead singer wrote for the Treasure Planet soundtrack, it's one of my favourite songs.


My best mate is into a lot of indie and acoustic stuff, but then she'll come out with some 70's disco track. And i'm not too much of a fan of 70's disco, it's not really my genre.

Everybody has that reaction! Yes it's a guy! You can hear the male-ness in his voice. Sometimes, not often... Some of my favourites:




With Wrecking Ball it's well written and well produced, I like her voice on the track as well though I used to think she was hot though, and now... well she kind of shattered that image. Also I prefer Miley's version to this guy's version. He pronounces his words strangely. So sue me!
