Bloody bludger that Andy Lee, he's been walking properly after the broken bones for a few weeks now. Should have dominated at least 8 AFL games by this time of the yearYou forgot two laggards- Lee and Laycock- underworked and overpaid.

Promoted: (from rookie list)
A.Ramanauskas
L.Mackinnon
What we should look for in trade week and draft:
CHRIS JUDD, lol
speedy skilled midfielders
Running players
Maybe one CHB to develop.
He's already played 44 games and is turning 22 in September. He does not dominate at VFL level and is always going to fade in and out of games with more out then in.
We've made too many mistakes holding on to players for too long in the past.
If we have learned anything then he will not be with us next year.
You know what I'd like to see? The hypocrites (who generally blame Sheedy for everything that goes wrong) who say that Bolton et al get games regardless of form, actually stop making stupid predictions like this. The rookie list should only be looked at after the year's finished - not judged purely on "This bloke used to be good before cancer, a knee reco and 3 years off, let's pick him up" and "this blokes 3 metres tall, he'd have to dominate"
I don't think Rama's positive influence on the club and the team will cease if he isn't playing, he has no white blood cells - just black and red.

Key requirements:
Classy Midfielder with pace (either established or already there):
- Judd (of course)
- Dal Santo
- Rischitelli
- Swallow
- Priddis
- Chad FLetcher
- Shaun Higgins
- One of Geelongs OB's
Ruck Talent
- Not sure where this will come from (would have loved Luenberger if priority draft was as it was
Skillfull mid size forward (aka O'Keefe)
- Not sure where this will come from either.
These are the three KEY areas of development. No.1 priority should be classy midfielder, followed by another Ruck to help Hille/Ryder...
What is the deal with Lonergan? Doesn't seem to get much luck with selectionLot of waffle in this thread![]()
For a start if you are going to put up names to be delisted you could at least try and find out if they are out of contract! Laycock ,Johns and Lee all have contracts for next year so they would have to be traded to get them off our list.
Fletcher wont retire.
Players uncontracted include
Mark Johnson
Ricky Dyson
Sam Lonergan
Mark Bolton
James Hird
Damien Peverill
Scott Campereale
Richard Cole
Jay Neagle
Heath Hocking
Lachlan McKinnon
Adam Ramanauskas
Not 100% but i think Kepler Bradley may also be uncontracted as well.
From the above list
Jay Neagle will be safe as they still see him as being a good prospect in the future.
Sam Lonergan would be feeling the pressure a bit, time is running out for him to impress further.Should stay but is under the microscope all the same.
Peverill's form in his last 20 odd games would likely see him get another 1 year contract.
Johnson would also be under the pump. He isnt getting any faster in his old age.
Hocking is still pretty much 50/50 as far as getting onto the list.
Dyson looks like he may have run out of chances.
Cole doesnt look good for Richie either. Has put in a big effort this year but not being in condition and not much output last year looks to have really cost him.
McKinnon has not done enough to put him on the senior list. Would be a player i would risk letting go and maybe getting him back in the rookie draft .
Ramanauskas not too sure if Rama can get back close to what he was and the hard question that needs to be asked is do you go for a 28 year old who hasnt played much in 2 1/2 years or a young player.
Bradley his form as a forward in the VFL may save him.
Campo and Hird will both retire.

ah... that makes it seem slightly less like a Sheedy vendetta thenNo he doesnt but i do know he would have played against the Lions instead of Dyson but he had a minor injury problem on the wednesday morning and missed a bit of training that week. He has also struggled with a bit of a hand injury he got in the VFL game against port Melb 4 or 5 weeks ago.
Time is running out for him a bit and if he doesnt get in the side soon then he may well face the axe.

Here's a thought.
What are the chances of Jason Cloke being drafted into our side next year? I get the impression he's one of our best in the magoos, and the Sheedy Administration has done stranger things. Before you reply I must say I'm not in favor of this idea, just reflecting on the possibility.
Pondered the same thoughts. With the emergence of Ryder as a genuine defender the evil thought may of been staved off. However if Mal were to retire at years end as others have predicted then it would seem a likely option.
I keep reading everywhere that Rama is only 26. I can't personally see him being dropped given the efforts we have spent in retaining him on the list whilst unavailable.

i agree he would be good to hav another tall who can play at either end of the ground and could sometimes push into the ruckHere's a thought.

I think we should definately pick up Cloke at the end of the year. Cloke plus a skillfull, Hard in and under midfielder would be very nice. I think that Cloke would be a fabulous replacement for us for when Fletch retires, he's ready made and would be able to step into the CHB role straight away. I hope he's at Essendon next year!!
I don't think it will, we need someone to replace JJ soon, and Hislop or Lonergan are the player's who will do this, and you can't just rely on Hislop to do that because if he doesn't workout you need a plan B.The way I see it at the end of the year will have several changes
Hird to retire
Bolton to be delisted
Dyson to be delisted or traded for draft pick
One of Cole/Camporeale will go at end of season
One of Lonergan/Peverill and Heffernan to go (at least - maybe 2)
One of Lee / Bradley or Johns to be traded for a draft pick
That is 6 - maybe 7 players gone at end of year with players competing for spots. If Lonergan doesn't get a run soon think his time will be out.
With 7 spots lets us elevate 2 of rookie list and still 5 draft picks or elevate 1 off rookie list 5 draft picks and 1 pre-season draft..
