What Do we need next year?

I say we get 2 Ruckman (One who's ready to go e.g Meesen) and a good in and under midfielder. Does anyone have any suggestions who should go for in the draft?
A new Clement....
Defender along with a ruck and a strong verstile midfielder to which i think we should hope for in the trade...

Pay $500k+ to a ruckman who will dominate for us. Considering we have a whole lot of money, and a bit of salary cap space, this shouldnt be an issue, or should it?

And we recruit classy midfielders with our picks, and a tall prospect (200cm +) with our latter pick.

Rookie list another ruckman and another mid or smoky KPP.

Trade for a listed ruckman after we delist both Richards and Bryan.

Use our first pick on a midfielder type. Selwood, Grimes, Veszpremi, Morton are the names we should look at.

Use our 2nd pick on the best available ruckman in the draft, with a bit of luck Bellchambers or McEvoy may slip.

Use our 3rd pick for Jaxon Barham.

Hope that Michael Griffiths is looked over, and snag him with our 4th round selection.

Go to the rookie draft, and pick a young raw ruckman to develop over a couple of years.

Good plan but i highly doubt it'll happen. Although i do like it

For goodness sake.... does it need to be any more obvious than it has been for 10 years? WE NEED A BLOODY #1 RUCKMAN WHO CAN DOMINATE!!

Josh has done a manful job for that period - but he is not the dominating ruck type and needs to be freed up to hurt sides with his size and mobility around the ground.

If you are just worried about the home and away games I need:

132 cans of Johnny Walker and Coke
264 Cigarettes
440 mm of new fingernail growth
9 cats (to kick after a loss)
1 new couch
1 shoulder reconstruction (from punching the air after particularly tight wins)
4 large "G" clamps (to keep the lid on if we make the finals)
1 balaclava (for laying low the week after a loss to 16th side)

Obviously we need a good ruckman but don't forget we actually won the hit outs against the Tigers.

I think our 1st pick will definitely be an in and under midfielder who can win the footy(someone similar to Judd will do):p. Offer our 2nd round pick to Adelaide for Meeson and see if he can become a player in his preferred home.(Living abode not necessarily team)

Absolutely no doubt, a money midfielder. Also need someone to step up as a Cameron Ling stopper and a ruckman. Simple. Forget Backs and forwards this year (unless there's a freak we can nab) and concentrate on the guts!!

Meesen/Moran (I'm happy to trade Rusling and maybe get an exchange of picks)
Brent Prismall
1st round on gun mid
Patrick Veszpremi (would love Masten, but he'll be gone)
Dawson Simpson
Jaxon Barham
Rookie ruckman (and Richards delisted/traded).

A new style of play... playing like 2002 atm

No way are we playing like that. 2002/2003 was a very defensive and slow style of play. It was chip chip chip find a lead, close down the other team. Now it's run from the halfback line whereas most of our defenders in 02/03 had jobs, heaps of running and long kicking, minimise hand passing, go wide until we go inside 50 where we straighten up and go long (this both means mistakes aren't punished as much as in the middle as it will probably just go over the line, meaning we have time to regroup, and when going inside 50 it opens up the angle for leads up the middle and it's easier to kick to a leading target or a 1 on 1 at an angle rather than straight on). We also had a shallow and defensive midfield, Burns and Licuria would often do defensive jobs, in 2003 Holland also was a tagger.

As a matter of interest, Brad Moran has not got a stat half way into the Eagles/Roos game.

Brad Moran is not an answer to much at all. He is a massive project player. We'd be best served with someone like a Jamar, who is no good but someone who you know is ready to play.

I doubt he got much game time in the first half, to be honest. He came out and got a touch seconds in to the second quarter, and ended up with 7 possessions, 5 marks, and the commentators mentioned that he looked very good.

On the downside, Jabso is right in that he's a project player, he's also not being played in the ruck for North's VFL teams.
