:)

Excellent, especially the title of Ray Bright's book.
This comment explains things even more............
“The negatives are stored in a safe place that only Brad Haddin and I know the location of”

:)

It was funny watching you grandstanding about him scoring zero f-c centuries when you were wrong, that's all. :)

Either way that is a shocking stat for a so called AR..that is a type of stat for a number 8/9. I don't rate his bowling to be international standard in test cricket. When your best ball is the slower ball (great in ODI's) there is a small problem unfortunately.

To be fair I don't think bombers follows County Cricket.

In any case I think it's pretty fair to say that Mitch Marsh is a better batsman than James Faulkner and that Faulkner's test hopes depends on us having a keeper who can bat in the top six and I think we can all agree that our batting isn't strong enough for that.

And of course Faulkner was a silly little boy whilst at Lancashire and isn't in any position to get selected for the test team this Ashes as a result

I'm not actually arguing for Faulkner's place in the side. I don't think he has the penetration as a bowler at that level, mid 130s at best and doesn't swing it.

I would say he is a better batsman than is being argued though. The fact that it has taken him a while to score his first hundred is hardly the travesty it is being made out to be.

He's certainly good enough to hold down number 7 in a test side, to say 8 or 9 is a bit unfair on him.

Zampa, Boyce, Lynn, Silk.

All nowhere near test selection mind you.

No he says he likes them.

I remember when he claimed to like Hughes but complained when he was selected for ODIs saying he should be test only and then complained when he was selected for tests saying he was only suited for ODIs

Or saying that Rogers injury will give a good opportunity for Shaun Marsh to open and within an innings complaining that we didn't last minute fly someone over from Australia to play.

People need to stop talking about Faulkner. We're not a good enough team to bat a keeper at 6, and that's all there really is to it.
I don't see how we can fit Mitch Marsh into this side then either.

I don't view him as good enough to hold down a top 6 batting position.

And Haddin certainly can't (to accommodate Marsh at 7).

Marsh does average over 60 since the last Ashes.

Of all the allrounders (bar Maxwell) he's the best bat

Why the fixation with an all-rounder at 6?

Ask the selectors. Not me.

Personally I wouldn't be amazed if they drop Voges for Mitch Marsh because we need an extra bowling option because Johnson and Starc went at 4.5 an over

Any other test apart from Lords and I'm with you. Play the best bat in the top 6. Voges, Clarke, Warner, Smith can bowl part timers anyway.

Oh the internet is a cruel place...

Bloody hell I can't believe you missed the next great hope - Jake Doran!

Could maybe be excused for thinking this before the Pakistani series in the UAE, but I think he's addressed those concerns since then. Stood up over there with maturity and came back and contributed nicely against India in the couple of tests he played in. I think in his relatively short time in the test XI he's demonstrated he hasn't got that pig headed mentality about his game and he's willing to adapt to suit the teams needs (ie. one of the couple who could say with a straight face that they bothered to take care and knuckle down in the UAE and despite being on the fringe played without fear ignoring the potential implications on his average unlike a certain wicket keeper has done a few times). That suggests to me he's got the character that can only improve our side. Helps that he was also our best performer in the tour games as well.

harris says give watson another test.....as when things are down he always comes back and performs. also he watched watson in the nets and did well.

ryan. now you are a legend and popular with everyone. however, you are still one of the boys and unfortunately have an innate bias.
