Back to back tons against second string county bowlers? You'll forgive me for not thinking that is definitive proof of Test domination.

I get you don't like Watson. I get that once you decide you don't like a player you refuse to consider any opinions outside of that. Most people here are happy with Marsh being given a go. But this idea he's so much better than Watson, I'm not so sure.

Poblem is Watson and his ego, well you try telling him to not review.

Give marsh a chance, heaven knows you have given Watson 8 years to score about 3 test tons for a top 6 bat!

I don't mind Watson, but I hate the fact he has been gift wrapped a test spot for 12 months without showing any form whatsoever. Surely you have to perform, his stats are pathetic for a top 6 bat in the last 2 years. I'm happy someone else has been given an opportunity to perform.

Look post this series we have to look long term. I was happy for Voges to play this series, but afterwards should be it. We need to look for alternatives especially in terms of batsmen. We have bowlers, we have 2 keepers in Nevill and Whiteman

Warner at least has done something at home, don't see me rating him that highly, in fact I expected him to flop in England where the ball moves. Cummins is 12 months away, and shouldn't be in the squad, but honestly who else is there that is actually fit? The other options are all injured.

Watson has shown he has been past it for a good 12 months, Marsh is ready.

i.e Struggles on anything but home pitches. In the UAE he scored, but the words batting well would not be used for any of his innings over there. He was all over the shop against spin

And to be fair it was the same county opposition that Watson didn't do as well against. If we're discrediting the value of the opposition surely performing even more modestly is bad? Surely after 2-3 years of Watson crap we deserve to give the next in the queue a chance to prove himself. If he doesn't do well oh well. That's sport but Watson has used up all of his lives.

I don't have an issue with his output as such I have an issue with is ability to take control of a game (with bat or ball) when the team needs it. He's made most of his scores in junk innings or in situations where the game is already in control. He has failed to prove he is a match winner and a steadier with bat and/or ball and for that he needs to go.

Agree to an extent. But at the same time, Watson wasn't really having to earn his spot. For him it was just blowing out the cobwebs and so forth. If an established player doesn't perform in the warm up matches you don't immediately drop them. But I do see your point.
