The game was very ordinary. Anyone with eyes could see that.

So, what is it exactly that you want?

Ratten sacked?
Carlos FB every week?
New fitness coach/better training drills?
Make Fish the go-to man in the forward line?
No more flooding
xxxx dropped to the Ants
.....

Cut the 'they have no heart' and 'they were pathetic' general crap and post what you really think needs to be done to improve.

Teach half the side........actually about 3/4 of the side how to kick flat passes to a player 20-40m away, rather than the "up and under"variety that continually gets served up.

Fev wasn't his best tonight but FFS he has to be getting shitty with the delivery.

Murph was the only player regularly spotting up targets inside F50.

To be honest, the last 2 games have made me pretty happy, in that its alot prettier to watch than any game last year. I see the individual improvement in guys like Thornton Murph Gibbs and Bower and alot less turnovers due to a poor gameplan - now generally just poor individual skills but at least that can improve, where the gameplan remains. 3 things that will make a massive differnce: Midfield fitness and willingness to run all night, less Fev oriented attack, and finding genuine taggers (too many players ran free tonight, bad decision dropping Jackson).

...Maybe no.4 would be drop Carrazzo, hes the most infuriating player in the team and I'm this close to having a stroke at 16. Rhymes ey?;)

I want tall forwards who can take a mark like Kernahan 3 on 1 or bust the pack like Spalding to bring the ball to ground so the smalls and mediums can crumb a goal.

I want some smalls and mediums.

I want more legspeed and run and carry into the forwardline.

**** we miss Walker.

We will improve when Judd and Stevens get more runs under their belt, but we're expecting too much from Murphy and Gibbs when they're still wet behind the ears.

I want Carrazzo to play within his limitations by giving the ball off to someone in a better position who can kick and use the ball well.

Possibly move Houlihan into the middle to increase our kicking efficiency.

I want Milne to be hung, drawn and quartered.

I want Aisake to be played as a mobile forward target inside the forward 50 ahead of a kid like Kreuzer who shouldn't be rushed into senior footy.

How about putting the club and the jumper as the number one priority before they run on the ground!

Exactly. It's pointless talking about positional changes when you don't have the fire in the belly in the first place. Positional changes aren't going to magically turn us around when the passion and hard work isn't there.

People are underestimating how much leadership really counts in the way a team will perform. That is something we lack and Judd can't go around telling all the boys to keep performing when we are up by 20 points, that should already be their mindset.
We lost our lead not only because fatigue started kicking in, but once a again we got too comfortable and laid back to realize St.Kilda still have plenty legs to go and are a team that can topple us easily when they get their run together. We had close to our full team in so their are absolutely no excuses tonight. It was typical Carlton football.
AND There is no point bashing individual players for their efforts tonight since it was a team loss. There were plenty of shining lights ala Murphy, Gibbs & Fisher but at the end of the night, unison and team bonding did not contribute and it cost us dearly. If our healthy early leads continue to diminish so easily in the weeks to come and then losing from there, our hole we are already win will just become a trench..

So we started fatiguing early in the 2nd quarter? Christ almighty, if that's the case then we won't win any game this year if we're that unfit.

How about making Cloke a target accross HF. Sure, he may not mark everything that comes his way, BUT, he IS a target, and gives you some presence.

Or, play Fev out at CHF, and play Fisher and Edwards out of the goal square.

Some good ideas there HBF :thumbsu: I like the Cloke one.

We need a bentick type in the side.
Players must back themselves stop this kick it long and high shit to Fev....it rarely works and we always get killed on the rebound.
If you cant get a player one out on a lead or in good position dont kick it to him.
Midfielder's have to start kicking goals it gets said every week they are happy to dish it off when they should run in and kick the goal.
What about dropping Judd or Stevens into a forward pocket at times instead of leaving the ground.... They both need the match time.

Eddie Betts was inside 50 twice and tried to square it up when he should kick the goal.....thats what his paid for.

Finally, the bloody ball skills are on a par to my sons under 10 side........surely the club can adfress this.

hehe no we are not that unfit. I was implying that we put so much into the first qtr that we had lost a lot in the tank for the second quarter, and when that happens teams like st.kilda will just run all over you. Our fitness levels are pretty average though so its certainly something thats needs 2 be worked on at training.

We did.
The result was embarrassing with Stevo, running into an open goal trying to dish off to Judd who had a man on his hammer.

Judd went forward late as well, but the idea of taking them to the bench is to keep the run in their legs.

Clearly it didn't work as we seemed to run out of "run" before half time.

Stop kicking it backwards to easy possesions, run it in to the fwd line with a bit of risk and ffs someone give whoever is running it some options! our fwds need to relentlessly lead and present. run for ur teammate and everything else will fall in place.

this keep things off handball until an option presents rubbish is just that, rubbish!!

Simple, start at the top. Sack whoever made the decision to focus on the priority pick. Get rid of this evil that has engulfed our club for nearly a decade.

After round 11 2007 we had 4 wins. Brisbane had 4.5 wins.

We finished with 4 wins and Brisbane finished with 9 wins and 2 drawers.

Winning is everything. Stop thinking of draft choices and start thinking of winning.

Fair enough.
I only saw the game in patches and obviously didnt see that move.

Not much you can do when the opposition floods the forward line except go back and find another way in. Once or twice I noticed they broke up the flood by going back and making space.

I thought Carlton was mnore composed than I've seen in the past when they try to play possession football. This is a good sign - it means we won't get bitch slapped when we try to control the play.

Aisake still has a fair bit of development in him before he debuts at senior level. His disposal needs more work, and he can still run himself into trouble. Still, quite a lot to work with here.

There's soooo many things which come to mind but after tonight the ONE thing i'd most like to see is us STRAIGHTEN THE F@#K UP! We p!ss fart about in circles, players now automatically look sideways/backwards rather than forward. It's negative, indecisive and - on night's like tonight - soul destroying. No wonder we couldn't kick any bloody goals!

We also need to introduce more run into our structure. We look slow and unfit - so much so that it now may be even too difficult for us to keep up with the Bombers next week if conditions are dry.

Pfieffer's introduction as a positive out of the night and the sooner Armfield is in the better.

i want us to stop kicking to Fev so much

Having a centre half forward would help.

I don't Kreuzer wrecked by being played before he's ready when he already has FAI.

Let Aisake get butchered in a KPP and smashed, he's big enough and old enough to take it.

We are very slow moving the ball on. We took a long time to do this last night which enabled the Saints to flood.
