Agree it's very frustrating. Although generations before us have porbably been through more hardships than us, it's still so frustrating to let go a massive opportunity and also lose to the team on the bottom.

My only hope is that this is the kick in the ass we need and don't lose another game for the year. I'm very doubtful.

Its in us, its just a matter of performing. We could lose one or two more, and pack the bags. Or, we can now go on, build a little confidence and bring out another belting, like we know is in us. I find it almost imposible to believe we can get near the top 4. But i want to believe we can and really think we can only have a chance if players are dropped/rested. Taz Rocka for starter, and bucks has to rest before season end

After watching the match tonight, the players seemed to believe that they could simply show up to the ground and walk away with the four points. They obviously didn't take Essendon seriously.

I had a bad feeling about this game all week. Sheedy hates the guts out of Collingwood and would have revved his players up to perform at their absolute best. We played extremely poorly for most of the game. A feeble, feeble effort.

The one bright spot was watching Jimmy Clement ripping Hird a new a**ehole.

As far as the finals go, I expect little more than a straight sets exit and will consider it a "rebuilding season".

can be certain of one thing tho, next week the players will give it everything........just befuddled why it takes such a poor loss to get results??

Lets not forget where the Pies finished in 2005 - won a couple of games they weren't expected to earlier this year and all of sudden unrealistic expectatins again creep in.

It's the same list of inconsistent players, sure some exciting kids will progress in a year or two - if I was told before round 1 that Collingwood would finish around 7th or 8th with the current list and last year's form I woulda taken it.

Still need a ruckman (not Richards, Fanning, C.Cloke) which will really prove Josh Frasers worth to the team, and some leg speed/goalkicking midfielder and then fans would have every reason to get excited.

Will be a fair achievement if they hang on to play finals after 2005, and with an inferior midfield and out of form forward set-up.
Dont hang the boys yet, Port, Carlton then North to reverse what I think has been a 2-5 result from the past 7 outings

While I was very *****ed off about the game I don't think it is quite as bad as some are making out. anyone who has watched Essendon over the last month will realise for the first time this year they have started player much better footy. Loyyd asside the are not missing any key players. I was very concerned about this game especially after last week, I thought it was a massive effort last week and there was every chance we would be flat.

Remember Melbourne lost to Carlton, Adelaide lost to Richmond. There are not easy games. Don't expect the last 3 to be easy either. Carlton , North and Port have all been very competative lately.

For me the loss simply came down to poor foot skills and forwards not presenting enough. Trave cloke seemed to be playing taz's role(taz did not look right , just could not cover ground)and did a great job getting it but his use was poor. Rocca hardly moved and should have taken atleast 2 or 3 of the 5 he almost took and taz was very poor. After the first quater our midfield had enough of it but the amount of turnovers was poor often when under very little pressure. I(probably like everyone else) thought we were going to run away with it but I thought one bit of play summed up the night. We looked like scoring a goal to hit the lead the ball comes out quickly and bradley beats bucks and someone else -Essendon goal against the flow. Had we scored I have no doubt we would have won. We didn't and credit to the Dons they deserved it.

Hats off to Swan. Clement and Fraser who I thought were all in the top 5 on the ground.

We can still win the next three and anything can happen. As Doona said we finished 15th last year and there is alot to like about the future.

I liked the look of Egan last night. He has a bright future.
It takes a second-year player such as Egan to kick the most amount of goals, which is a shame.

Iles was better than last week, in my opinion, his disposal and knowledge improved.

I have high hopes for Pendlebury. He has riches of upside to fill out.
