I hope u are right. If not I cannot see why Thierry Henry would want to hang around with us fighting out with liverpool for 4th spot until we rebuild our side. We'd need to sign some established players - signing Mahamadou Diarrhoea as has been rumoured is pointless. We might as well try & sign Djemba-Djemba or Salif Diao. We are certain to sign an unknown if anything can be read into Wenger's comments the other day about signing talented players who were not necessarily stars but would become stars.

I trust what Arsene's doing. We eventually needed to clean the team up, and he has a vision that will come to fruition in the coming weeks in the transfer market.

But I think maybe getting rid of Vieira and possibly Pires will lower our chances of winning the title next season, maybe another year for development of the group will see us get there.

Exciting times ahead.

Good money for a 29y.o
Why do i feel absolutely deflated ? Impossible to replace Paddy.V. What a player he has been for Arsenal , it is a good deal for all concerned, just bloody sad.

Good money? What about the 30 million quid we were offered last summer by Real? If we were going to sell, then would have been the time to do it.

I think Arsenal just may miss Edu more than they first realised now.

It seems no club in England has really gone "forward" with any of their signings...yet.

Everyone's wise in hindsight. He had a less than imressive year, which would have dealt a blow to his value.

As much as I have slated the guy these last twelve months, I'm shattered he's gone. Just shattered.

So all those times you said "******** him he should have gone" and "he doesn't deserve a game" and that you were happy he was out of the team.. that was all just fun and games?

All you ever do is slate the club. I'm pretty down that he is gone but Arsene has produced the goods before and will again. Have faith. Although I'm talking to the wrong person = whinge first, praise later (if ever).

If you're going to attack me at least get it right. I said he shouldn't have been playing because he was playing terribly. I never said a thing against him when he started playing well and should've been in the team.

Many ways to look at it boz , think if he had left then, we would have missed out on seeing him score the final penalty v that scum, not a bad way to go out.....

Vieira's a fantastic player, no doubt, he will be sorely missed and cannot be replaced.

But this is the same bloke whom 12 months ago thought he was bigger than the club, would've left but didn't, and proceeded to have a shocking 1st half of the season and got a little better in the 2nd half.

And the same bloke 24 months ago who did the same

Which is why I said good riddance.

Fantastic player, but Wenger will always come around and pull a rabbit outta the hat like he always does.

Im sure Wenger didnt wake up one morning and suddenly decide to sell Paddy. He's looked at the situation and if that situation involves having a captain not 100% commited to the club he made the right choice in letting him go.

Face facts. He was average last season by his standards. We have probably seen the best of him and we got some money while we still coule. Wenger has given this club so much and im sure he will have somebody lined up.

In the end of the day no player is bigger than the club. He's gone but Arsenal is still here and still going strong.

You won't see his 97 and 01 form, take the blinkers off.
