I did wind up watching the Soccer, Ref was Crap and the Game was Boring

Considering the World Cup is supposedly the pinnacle of the supposedly greatest football game in earth every game I have seen has been totally in tune with the selected soundtrack of the SA WC, the vuvuzela.
Monotone, droning tedium to the point of screen (or speaker) smashing frustration.

Soccer affection ado's hold your powder, I have little regard for soccer at the best of times but the WC has done no favours in catching my interest.
In fact the opposite.

Watching Carlton get done is worlds more entertaining than some third world countries jog to a nil all draw to the tune of a million bees on valium.
