Cat fans who are say only teenagers should be appreciative of what is unfolding here. Fans of late 20's onwards would have seen the Ablett Sr years and have seen how Geelong played the offensive high scoring game of the late 80's early 90's, but this period sees a powerful defence complimenting the strong forward power we possess nowadays. This is an era which to be honest 18 months ago i would never have thought would happen, and in all honesty at the end of 1999 when Colbert walked out, few of us could ever envisage.
I wrote a thread (after 2007 GF) about when I lost hope back in 2001. We'd just been belted by Port at Kardinia Park. It was the first time I'd actually come to the realisation that I may not see a premiership in my lifetime. It was indeed a dark day in my GFC following life. Not the loss mind you. Or the way we played or were playing. It was purely the realisation that made things bleak. I'd never ever contemplated that before.
No such worries now though. Of course we all want more premierships and by the look of things another might not be to far away but as far as 2007 goes. The realisation as been lost forever.
