My wish is we fu** around and play a few fixtures at one of these bs hubs , kick a few arses and then when crowds are allowed back say September latest , we play like 10 straight MCG games , avg 70k odd , afl say what crisis

I would hate to be managing the complexity of needing Ch7 TV rights payments and putting players at considerable risk of playing this year. The risk / reward equation would be so complex.

I have a couple of mates who are assistants at an AFL club who have been laid off. They’ve been told they will be re employed on May the 1st with players likely to return that week

Wow, that would be amazing for them. I still can't see it though. We are not even at 0.25 known infection, the scope to infect would still be too high I would have thought, but hey, what would I know, money talks all languages.

It’s what they’ve been told. Government expects to start easing restrictions from May 1st providing we don’t have a post Easter spike.

I'll spare you. Be as exasperated as you like mate. You think social distancing is going to be a part of that easing? I get all things are on the table as we are still in unknown territory and Professional Sport is lobbying hard to be treated like work, not the same, but alike. You've indicated by what you have typed that one or two daily cases is what you expect in 3 weeks time in Victoria. I hope it is, even look from Queensland. The medical folk however seem to think it is harder and longer to get down to level than up from it.

If the Drs and Scientists had their way we’d be completely locked down or not doing anything till mid next year. Reality doesn’t allow that

Be a shorter pathway though (4-8 weeks), but possibly more costly. We are an island and it's a bit of pity we didn't go harder earlier, and be nearly through it now, with tougher quarantines until a viable vaccination appears.

Still have winter flus/colds to get through going to be interesting...early days as far as I am concerned...
