Dan the man is implying this could go on for 12mnths at least (Timeframe for vacine & trials).
If that's the case and I can't see the govt going back to stage 1 or 2 restrictions until then.
Football may not be back until August 2021.
If that happens I doubt very much it'll be an 18 side comp.

AFL are ******* deluded.

Scomo saying 6 more months of these restrictions which takes us to October.

AFL logic we will be back by June so 2 months 🤪.

Just give up on 2020 already you ******* muppets.
What would they do that for , in vic the rate of infection is now >10% daily growth, was double that , where do you think it will be in 90 days and you say give up now , stupidest thing I’ve heard all day

the way it's going here should be back soon, 2-3 months away. Australia is doing ok just keep the international borders closed for a while
Nz went on full scale lock down , Qld have closed their borders both have > 800 cases , Victoria with double the population only 150 more cases And the GAP diminishing, we got this , footy back by August , if games can’t be played interstate they forfeit the points , period

I'm loving our recovery numbers its a good sign

I just won’t be able to take this year seriously if it goes ahead . A slapped together shortened season at the end of the year with short quarters is just a Disney land year.
I won’t count this this years premiers if there in one......unless we win it.
will still be in the record books as an afl premiership and will be #13 for us. footy history is full of disney land flags and this would be above any of those by far. we could even argue that it is the best and most even flag of all time due to all teams playing eachother once. and we could just say that we would have won it anyway if it was a full season so whats the difference

the oppo salt will be even worse

If 17R can be played then it’s reasonably legit , if say 10-12 plus finals , it will be a farce with Complete luck of the DRAW to be consequential

I just don’t see how afl or nrl
Think they are getting seasons done , Quasimodo saying lock down possibly 12 months , Anna however you spell the surname from qld saying until minimum October , Slomo saying 6 months minimum when the rapture happens

nobody is saying these huge timeframes will be required for solid isolation, though... if the virus is about 14 days in it's entirety to go from a "positive" (confirmed) to a "negative" (confirmed) case, then why would we need to isolate so heavily for months and months? it's a matter of just getting the numbers down to a plateau and then contact-tracking-tracing each case and isolating those few cases as necessary to let the entire virus peter out, then we'll be allowed back out to do whatever.. 2 months is a reasonable estimation until things plateau if the numbers start going down soonish.

I agree with what you are saying I’m just going off what the politicians are saying . None of them have said the above though , they have all said minimum of 6 months with social distancing procedures in place .

yeah, I have heard them saying stuff like this, but it's a crude over-estimate to be safe. e.g. plan for the worst and we'll take better when/if it comes.

17 games, all games under same conditions, I think it’s a fair enough season. Any less and I wouldn’t want a premiership awarded. Though I’m not against awarding a ‘championship’ or some other trophy in a severely abbreviated competition to try generate some revenue and play some games if it comes to it.
