It is, and it stunned me that for all intents and purposes they endured the same or very similar environmental conditions. Yet the outcome was so dramatically different. Men are three times more likely to suffer. The message, you cannot be too cautious!
I've never washed my hands so thoroughly with soapy water...and having been a nail biter all my life...my nails are now snow capped with new growth!

I had exact same symptoms as corona virus in Early Nov, virtually identical. Cold to start , coughing fits , fatigue which knocked me out for an entire day , temperature , sweats on and off , walk few metres couldn't breath , diff feeling to my asthma attack type of breathing. Went to doc she couldn't work out why couldn't shake it either , she gave me steroid for the asthma side of it and calmed that down a but i had those other symptoms a good 2 weeks.
Maybe its been around longer this corona and been passed off as something else ?

Same. Worked in close proximity to a Pilot from a Chinese airline in early January (6th). About a week later had mild symptoms, mainly the cough and a bit of nausea. My breathing has been dimishing but I'm not young and less fit than I have been and thought, there you go. I joked to a few people as watched what was starting in Wuhan, that maybe I had Coronavirus. Now I don't know. Was I just lucky? Still not taking any chances.

I read somewhere that certain blood types get it more and worse than others etc I guess it’s like any illness you find some family’s have cancers through generations and some others don’t , some people get sick easily and others don’t . I think it all has to do with an individual’s Gene pool .

Let's just hope we don't swim too close to the shallow end of that pool my friend :D

What time does today’s infection update come out ? I like the idea of the hub , play half the season remotely then when the coast is clear return games to vic and the Tigers and other major clubs simply don’t leave the MCG. Crowds will be off the charts and the coins will start rattling back into the afl cookie jar whilst we storm toward another finals campaign , I like it , make it happen

The talk about NTFL holding AFL games like Round Robins is simply stunning and amazing. I would be gobsmacked if NT government made that happen. But, the AFL will do nearly anything to meet the obligations of the TV rights to get monies from that flowing I suppose.

I think we’ll be back in June but no crowds for most if not all of the season

Only if real time testing becomes possible I'd think. Unknown carriage of Covid19 infecting others becomes more and more real. It's happening now in society and we just can't truly measure it. We only measure it by those who become really quite symptomatic or have had known close contact at the moment. When we measure more broadly it may be possible, but at the moment those measure are just to vital elsewhere.

There are several options in terms of a remote hub , I would suggest in order of preference they are
Adelaide
Hobart
Perth
Darwin
Logistics and prevailing weather conditions factors that will be accounted for in decision process

In the grand scheme of things numbers are really low, if it keeps trending this way, they will be playing in June imo - quarantining the players and officials from everyone else will be a non negotiable. How that's logistically done? they dont even have the answers yet, but are working on it.

What about the G. All those infected could go to the footy, well the reasonably healthy ones. Cheer them up.

Wagga is a possibility except the lights on the towers are not good enough for night broadcasts and need to be added to. So if a bit of push was created through the council that would be struggling due to closures to get that sorted something might get done with a bit of political pressure and local people who fuss over motel intake are on the council to create pull. Might reduce usage costs of oval if arrangement done of addition to the lights on the towers for adequate night broadcasting

I only say this, ignoring local bias, is the Murrumbidgee(bigger than the Riverina area) catchment for those with the virus is low, no new cases for last few days and this is over a very big area geographically, there are plenty of hotels due to march outs which probably are not happening with relatives not arriving and generally things are pretty quiet so footballers could do their thing with little disruption. The pool next door closed, hardly anyone coming in on flights either and has regional new hospital nearby not that that should be needed. Its remote but not too far away if you know what I mean but it might help northern clubs like those in Sydney/Queensland to.

Apart from agriculture and transport its a hospitality centre for the region so not a lot is going on at the moment as one can imagine so things should be docile and relatively safe. You might be able to say this about grounds in Victoria country possibly?

The thing is because the area is so removed from Sydney, apart from the odd traveller, relatively speaking it has avoided the larger impact of the virus and players have a bit more space. They could hang out with a bit more space around theoretically and the defence is nearby for control apart from local police.

You do not have many, if any, backpackers hanging around Wagga itself and because its off a flood plain a lot of the populous is in the suburb hills and they tend to shop in the suburbs to especially due to a lot of closed retail shopfronts and other operations in the CBD near the oval. Bolton park is next to the oval for training possibilities and a lot of hotels walking distance away and the uni is virtually on line now so a lot of students are not about especially those who lost temporary job roles and gone home to study.
The other thing is cost of accomodation could be a factor. AFL might be able to a deal with the local uni if students have left and gone home, apart from other accomodation set-ups, like they might be able at Launceston as well as do a deal with local gyms where I know one has done a deal with defence in the past. Uni has its own security which would come in handy.

Canberra is another possiblity with the federal police but its a more transit city with more overseas travellers a number of virus infections so I am not sure its so ideal being less remote especially for those in transit including politicians

Wear gloves , I’m wearing them everywhere , I may look like a burglar but better to be safe than sorry

My wish is we **** around and play a few fixtures at one of these bs hubs , kick a few arses and then when crowds are allowed back say September latest , we play like 10 straight MCG games , avg 70k odd , afl say what crisis

Been saying it for ages. Hubs are good country venues, cars around the ground, 2 per car, lots of horns blaring, there's always one bloke you can hear over the microphone giving a good spray. Camera's on at the 1/4 time huddle. Some oranges cut up, a few players having a dart....
