Why is there no chat on the Collingwood Board??

They are going to get absolutley pumped tonight.

It'll be 12.30an Sat morning here in SF and I'll be up all night on the net waiting for updates.

Go ROOS.

Can someone please provide with a real in depth analysis of the ROOS performance for me, focusing on the new blokes.

Cheers

Shack

THE PIES ARE GOING TO STRIP DOWN THE ROOS AND DRAG THEM ALL OVER THE GROUND AND *******E THEM, JUST LIKE DAPHNE ASKED ME TO DO TO HER.

BUT I ONLY HAVE SEX WITH HUMANS.

Why didnt they just try to play football on them, that would have been better, maybe they would have had half a chance. Trying to get the man instead of playing the ball.

Shack,
Harris and Petrie perfomed great.
Pagan normally doesn't give much responsability to the young guys but in the last quater when it was still close Petrie was in the ruck and Harris was in the centre.
I supose that indicates what Denis feels about their abilities.
They combined well for some centre take aways and both were significant in the final result.
Sinclair and Rocca showed enough and Rawlings looks like he has improved and might be a regular.
McLaren doesn't know what the football looks like yet.

In summary things look good!

Thanks Cup Half Full

Have Clayton and Rawlings improved their disposal?

Also where was Lange played? I don't think there is room for him in our forward line, and his lack of pace is a bit of a worry in the back half!!

Shack,

It was a good team effort by the Roos last night. Our backline did alright, with Colbert and McCartney playing outstanding games, whilst Archer and Pickett put in their usual performance. Martyn went off injured in the first qtr and didn't come back on, apparently he has a hamstring strain. Troy Makepeace was also serviceable.

The midfield were on fire in the first qtr, with Corey giving the likes of Harvey, Grant, Stevo, Sinclair & Rawlings first use of the ball. However, Corey didn't take many marks around the ground. Our little guys were pretty good.

We had King (3 goals in 1st qtr) and Rocca (took an absolute ripper of a mark in the 2nd qtr) on the forward line and they kicked about 10 goals between them. Carey came on after half time and just collected a casual 15 possies and took about half a dozen marks. He looked in pretty good knick, and will only get better next week against the Power.

I must admit I was a bit disappointed with the form of McLaren, Lange, Cochrane, Clayton, but hopefully the were just having an off night. I was impressed with a couple oof our young guns in Petrie and Harris.

Yep

Aussie Roo is pretty much spot on with what he wrote.

A couple of other comments though. In all honesty, I didn't think we'd make the semi finals. With an influx of new players and the resting of Carey, I thought a 2-1 result would have been good. It seems to me that our boys are returning to something along the lines of the 95, 96, and 98 teams where the team played a full four quarters and putting pressure on their opposition throughout the game. We would get a burst of goals, but they were more akin to turning the screws rather than the main foundation of our victories. In '99, we mostly ground out wins while in '00, I lost count of the number of times where we'd get 7 or 8 goal bursts, and then hang on for dear life. If you look at last night, by the end of the game, the Collingwood structure had been broken....their passes started to go astray, their kicks looked to be under pressure, they stopped doing the one percenters, and they looked to have panicked. Last year, in several games, we may have gone into half time with leads of 6 or 7 goals, but for whatever reason, our opposition maintained their structure and systems and were always able to get back into the game. If we can return to that style of game of constant pressure, we will do very well this season.

One last comment. People talk about our new recruits in the kids plus Rocca, Sinclair, McLaren, and (for you Spidey) Olarenshaw. Don't forget that that Colbert and Stevens are virtually new recruits as well. The future is good, the future is royal blue and white.

Last thing, cheers to Paul Kanga for SMSing and calling me with a match summary. I wasn't at the game (had to leave and attend my best mate's 30th birthday), but caught it on TV.
