I don't know if it was bad game or a sad game, sad day for footy it is so corrupt..

I keep seeing the corruption and thinking when is it going to stop but Vlad keeps delivering.

pretty uninspiring, had to keep reminding myself that it was a GF and not a round 15 Sunday afternoon game, if it was not for Freo's third qtr "surge" i prob would have nodded off...if fact as soon as the norm smith was announced i volunteered to vacuum the other room where the kids had been watching dvd's and spilt chips everywhere...

outside 2000 and the replay one of the worst of the 2000's no highlights, no standout players even the Norm Smith was a pick a player out of the six who had an above average game.

goodbye 2013, bring on 2014 and let it be about the footy this time....

I rate the 08' and 11' GF's. Its nice to have the close finishes but I prefer high quality footy.

As tense as last weeks hawks/cats prelim was, I actually didn't think the game was that awesome.

The 5 most memorable moments for me:

1 - Opening Bounce
2 - Qtr Time Siren
3 - Half Time Siren
4 - Siren at 3/4 time
5 - Norm Smith Voters trolling and giving the full back the medal

Worst GF I've ever seen.

Only highlight was the best team of the last 2 years got what they deserved - congratulations hawkers!

Very disappointing. I expected so much better from Freo. At half-time I knew the game was over and couldn't quite understand how?? Hawthorn had played only average footy. o_O

Unfortunately that's all it took.

I thought it was objectively pretty crap, but as a Hawks fan, still shook with adrenaline from start to end.

Highlights included the Buddy-Rioli-Gunston goal and the Smith bomb, beyond that, yeah it was a bit of a grind and Freo couldn't deal with the occasion.

Feel very pleased after such disappointment last year. Give a rats about the spectacle? Nup.

it was a bad game

like others have said here were no great marks or amazing goals
buddy did nothing interesting

ballantyne seemed to go completely into his shell and provide no niggly entertainment

Was very ordinary. Very few memorable moments. I don't think it was anyone's fault I just think this match up is kind of boring. Geel v Hawth or Freo vs Geel would have been better.

Glad to here similar sentiments across the board - thought it might just have been the early 5:30am kick off in London and that I was still half asleep.

As a few other posters have said - just felt like a mundane H&A game.

Doesn't help except for 1 final by the Dockers a few seasons ago, there is zero history between the two. There was no passion, no grunt beyond what is usually seen in a final. Ballantyne was also on his bets behavior ever, and I found that a bit weird. I expected him to be out there being the dick he normally is, and was waiting. And waiting. And nothing. Was weird. There was far more intensity behind the Geelong/Dockers final at Skilled.

Probably for a spectacle it needed freo to hit the front in the 3rd

Just seemed so scrappy, low skilled and freo especially just wasted their chances

Yes, pretty ordinary game, but for me, the biggest disappointment was having no poo streamers showering over the players when they stood on the dais at the end. They had pee streamers but not poo streamers. Any idea why this was so? Do you think Hawthorn ordered the production company to hold off on the poo streamers? And if so why? Or did Hawthorn want both the pee streamers and the poo streamers, but the production company said no way, terrible colour combo, just go with one, and Hawthorn said OK then the pee?

Honestly it was a pretty poor Grand Final, and certainly the worst since 2007. Both teams started up defensively and were unwilling to take any risks whatsoever - the play almost never went through the corridor. Fremantle were awful in front of goals and there weren't any spectacular pieces of play either.

The second half opened up a bit but even then it was more so Fremantle trying to claw back, which isn't exactly their strongsuit as a team, and it wasn't overly fantastic. I will say that the fact Hawthorn out-pressured Fremantle was highly commendable, but ultimately it will not live long in the memories of neutrals.

Last week was definitely the Grand Final for Hawthorn and quite possibly Fremantle.
