The only thing relevant is 2012 and the future, not sure why Essendon supporters like to bring up our past 30 years?

It's nice as a fallback, i'll admit that. But yeah this is about the future.

And in regards to Dempsey, his season has been a brilliant comeback, his best season yet after a knee reco doesn't happen often. But yes he needs a big rocket in regards to discipline

Gumby, Bellchambers, Hocking, Crameri for starters. All nowhere near lean enough to do the running required. Even Monfries has puppy fat that should have been shed with hard work.

I would class Hurley as very fat, by AFL standards

That execrable jumper probably doesn't help

Defending Dempsey? Did you even watch Friday? The guy was a one man comedy act when he had a decision to make. He is a liability for you, inter alia

Ha, god you're an idiot.

Every player in the AFL must be fat by your definition.

Hurley has copped the same shit. Generally it's accepted that an acl takes two years to fully recover from.

Hurley may have had his issues but Riewoldt had a shit load of surgeries over the pre-season, and worst of all they were all issues that specifically inhibited all his strong points such as his contested marking and leap.

Hurley STILL has an injury that inhibits his marking in general. And that's not even mentioning the bung foot he had and his hammy injuries that he's had to deal with this year. He hasn't really had a fair run at it.

What a gun pears is lol. Has he ever hit someone on the chest?(from his own team btw)
Anyone with Rance in the back half shouldn't make such comments. Pears will be fine, he's had a horror run of injuries including a bruised pancreas where he lost an insane amount of weight, broken arm (of which he played the game out) and a severe foot injury similar to Matthew Egan. He's had an ordinary year but the continuity of playing most of the year will serve him well, particularly if he can get a full pre-season under his belt.

Now go back under your bridge.

I am loving everyone's analysis of our list as well. The fact is, at the start of the year we were flying - and a number of these players that everyone is hanging shit on were flying - what does that mean? How is it possible?? An aberration? An accident?? How could we have good form and then horribly bad form??? How on earth could we have dropped off so incredibly?? Could it have anything to do with all the hammies?
Yes.
And before everyone makes those stupid lists of players that their team had out on certain days, there is more to it than that. The lack of team continuity and psychological effect are arguably as damaging as the players missing through injury.
The fact that these injuries were little niggly 3-4 weekers meant that the players were playing with a different team every week. Unlike a big long term injury where a player is replaced and a position is filled, it meant that there was no continuity and it meant that structures and drills that had been trained could not run as smoothly as they once did. And this happened almost every single game. That kind of business kills confidence and it is clear in the Bombers that their confidence is shot. It makes you wonder whether fear of these injuries that everyone seems to be getting is holding back their attack on the ball because something is holding it back. If that is the case, see another severe drop in intensity next year if these injuries start to creep in again.

Well so far in 2012 we have won more games than Richmond....wait wait wait, I know, I'll save you another post...

Still one more round of the season to go, and if results go the way they should we will end up on top of Essendon on the ladder with a superior percentage.

Anyway neither of us will make the finals so it's really irrelevant, bring on 2013. :)

How are they noticeably overweight?

What criteria are you using exactly?

Noticeable protrusions of fatness in the torso and, then, a lack of ability/ desire to run lots.

And to the bloke who is claiming that the Essendon players were psyched our by the number of hammies, you run with that

Broken bones would be bad luck. This many soft tissues? Horrendously bad management

Not fair?
Bad luck?

Gee, not as if all these were caused by a witch's spell or something. Your club failed to prepare properly and has suffered the consequences. If you continue thinking its just bad luck, nothing will change. Which would be fine by me

Oh please, Jobe looks like the fattest person on our team when you see him in one our jumpers. That's what our jumpers are, they're skin tight. It doesn't make them fat.

Ability to run out games does not make them fat.

Anything else?

Zaharakis poster above already agreed.
Not sure if it's a player discipline/diet/laziness issue or one which is just body type

I am saying you have more players that look fat. That may be a reason why you have disintegrated. Essendon clearly needs to cut back on the protein shakes and expend a little more sweat over summer

And, black is a slimming color/ shade

Reckon it might be bulk from The Weapon's program which has made them "stronger over the ball", but unable to run out of sight on a dark night.

jiggle jiggle fatty boom boom waddle so slow lol bummers so fat

I think that's probably right Ron.
Weapon trying to mould players in his own image?
Would certainly fit with his God complex
They do look awfully slow. Glacial, really
