Reverse the numbers, eg Gaz 6 and Fyfe 1, and I’ve got the Hird’s group at 11 and Ablett’s at 10. Close call.

For the record, I would have Martin probably in the middle and Judd between Voss and GAJ. Would probably have Cousins in that slot too, but I’m incredibly biased when it comes to him.

As for which trio, probably the older guys. Martin, Fyfe and GAJ would be closer though.

Strange trio - Ablett isnt really the same generation hes 7-8 years older than the other two, why the comparison?

The first trio had constant comparisons throughout their careers bc they were all peaking at the same time. The 2nd trio dont really have a comparison rivalry as such

I’m not sure you’ll receive must support for this proposition.

I think Hird was the best player of the past 30 years. Can’t comment pre 90s since I was only a wee one.

Ricciuto was a great player. Arguable that he was better than Buckley but not definitive.

Agreed. If Swan is not in these discussions then neither can Dangerfield : both do/did not have elite ball use.

Still think Swan was better for longer : arguably in the best 1-2 players for 3 years running (competing with Judd then Ablett).
