It's probably a pitiful story on my behalf, but it did say more about him then it did me. Long story short, i asked for a follow on Twitter after i go a snap with him he turned to Corey Gault and then said "ahhh.... nah..." Then Corey Gault is sitting their pissing himself laughing, he's also a bit of a weird unit himself...
Pitiful story, but it's the point of if a supporter wants something as small as a follow on Twitter how hard can it be?

Did you honestly expect him to say oh sure mate I'll follow you?

Jamie isn't the arrogant prick many on here seem to think he is. Sometimes people mistake introvert behaviours for arrogance. Just because a player doesn't want to interact via social media or media in general doesn't make them arrogant. Those who know Jamie the person rather than the public figure footballer would know he's far from arrogant. But each to their own. I just find it completely bizarre that a complete stranger would ask someone to "follow" them on twitter or instagram or whatever and then get offended by it when they say ahhh nah or no or I wouldn't have thought so or completely ignore the question.
I'm sure you don't follow random people from the street on your social media (other than a-grade, b-grade, c-grade and d-grade celebrities) so where is the logic in thinking that an AFL footballer would be keen to follow your social media posts?

It's a good point you make Drafted, putting myself in the players shoes I would find it an extremely awkward moment if someone I didn't know came up an asked for a follow on Twitter, even more so when it's a fan of the club, as we've seen with Alex Rance some people may be innocent enough but others can end up stalking you, something players are well aware of.

Also as someone who uses Twitter why would I want to follow someone just because I'm asked to do so, twitter feeds get polluted enough, I'll follow who I want, being asked like that puts them in a position they'd rather not be in.

I've always had my pet players I've hated, not on a personal level, but because of their playing ability that infuriated me.

Years ago it was Tristan Walker, moved onto Danny Stanley and Sam Iles (he was a big hate), was happy when they were moved on. Then Ben Sinclair came along and so did Jesse White so status quo has resumed.
