List Mgmt. Which free agent should we be targeting?

Given the profile of our list and the assets we have amassed over the past three off seasons, there could not be a better time to land a superstar free agent like Dangerfield. Aside from the fact that he would compliment our existing midfileders with his diverse skill set and explosiveness, there can be no doubt that with Dangerfield in the side we once again will boast one of the more potent on ball brigades in the game.

We would need a Really Good Season for Dangerfield to be Even Interested in us.

I already reckon dangerfield has signed with us the pies are letting the cats take all heat like what happened with buddy and swans and gws it looked like he was always going to gws and the swans came from nowhere to get him plus pendelbury has met him 3 times already so we have a good chance of getting him

Was in the news yesterday saying he's in no rush to sign another contract.
Would love to get one back against the Blues after Daisy, and he's a pretty handy player!

Be great to get one back, but IMO he is a tad vanilla. I would be disappointed if we went after him.

Without looking at the list I wouldn't of thought so. He's already moved clubs once and you need to be on a list for 8 years to qualify. At 25 I don't think he'd meet that requirement

What is of more interest to me is why we haven't been able to get a big name player still in his prime?
The only one I can think of that may just sneak in is Ball.
Swans, Hawks, WB, PA and others do okay, we seem to just miss out.

Maybe our recruitment is relying too much on being the biggest and best facilities in the land, and not as much on $$ which is what the players actually care about. I can imagine it now "Think of all the commercial opportunities that will open up once your playing with Collingwood." "You'll be on the footy show every 3rd week" When really, the players would rather get that extra money just being paid to play footy. Just a thought.

Interesting, heard or read somewhere that maybe we play our players (B&C class) too much? But then how do clubs like Hawthorn fit them in?

Another one we could target is Matthew Kreuzer if we cant wait anymore for Grundy and Witts to develop, I think that would be a waste though. How much would Will Hoskin-Elliot cost, would be a great addition to the forward line is coming out of contract and was a Collingwood supporter growing up. Need to get Cameron McCarthy, need some defenders What would Suckling and Rance cost plus also like Mullet from North. Then we also need mids Treloar, Dangerfield, Steven, S.Selwood, Shiel, Aish the targets for mine here.

I don't mind him as a defender. Would allow Reid to play up forward with his intercept marking and kicking.

Both Grundy and Witts are individually better than Kreuzer.

We have been top of the table and with a full salary cap for most of the past 6-7 years

Hopefully that would be with forward payments as if not, unlikely we will ever get a decent free agent.
