With the modern game tactic of flooding the defensive 50 after after a behind. Which is the better option to clear the ball?

Torpedo out of fullback into the centre square with a 50-50 contest?

Chip around the defensive 50 until the ball can find a way out?

Other?

both work

torp is high risk high reward, short kicks are much safer

handballing and running it out is another option

I'd vote for kicking to a free man, personally ;)

The torp is 'low percentage' but at least it gets the ball towards the middle of the ground. I get very nervous when blokes are crabbing it around the boundary line or trying to string together a sequence of handballs, even though Geelong have created some success from the latter.
