Ok, budding list managers. You need to take control of one of these lists for the next few years:

Western Bulldogs or St Kilda?

(of course ignoring the fact that if you are a budding list manager you wouldn't be at the dogs because we don't employ one anyway)

Both teams have been "up" for a while but seem to be out of chances.

Who would you rather be in charge of?

Dogs. When I look at each list I see more KPP depth with the dogs in the future with Markovic, Cordy and Williams in defense, as well as Grant, Barlow and Jones inside forward 50. When I look at the Saints I just can't see the kpp quality in their list.

Neither. Both are in for more hurt over the next decade. Saints at least have one more shot at a flag next year. So St Kilda.

St Kilda, they just have so much trading power for next years super draft, Goddard & Dal Santo could net 4 first round picks. ontop of this they have Riewoldt who could get alot also.

I'd go with the Dogs, because I think they started on their list regeneration/playing the kids earlier than the Saints have. Tough call though.

Saints do have that trading power of guys like Riewoldt/Goddard/Dal Santo. They are pretty big wildcards.

Did someone list Grant Barlow Williams and Markovic as great KP depth or was I seeing things.:o

Barlow and Grant aren't neccessarily KP's (Grant may be in time, but don't know) but the others are fairly decent.

Williams is a competent CHB and Markovic goes alright as Lake's understudy.

I just had a look at the Saints list, and the only young KPP I can see are Archer and Stanley. McEvoy too. Ferguson and Walsh on the rookie list, but I have no idea how close they are to being upgraded, if they will be. Dawson is young, but he hasn't even got a contract.

That is seriously worrying for them.

WB will not have there best forward from 2011 and best defender for all of 2012. Cooney is up as trade bait as his knee is shot who knows where Lake will end up. There depth was on display in the VFL GF when PORT MELBOURNE made a mess of them. Players like Hargreave, Gilbee and Gia have lost consistency. Add to that theyve lost there best up and coming mid.

Im not sure where the WB will end up seems like trouble.

Why yes, our VFL team (full of our teams young guys) did make the VFL grand final. How did yours go? Did your young players get you there? Or did they do worse than ours...

Cooney is not up for trade, and the club has said this many, many times. James Fantasia said this the other day on the radio, the club said on their twitter. We wont trade our brownlow medallist, sorry.

Gia kicked 45 goals for the year. Hardly inconsistent. Hargrave had a foot/ankle injury nearly the entire year, so that isn't inconsistency either.

doggies by the length, Saints have no quality at all coming through, even their coach seen the writing on the wall, ageing stars like Hayes, Goddard, Roo, dark times ahead IMO.

As Igloo said- Cooney and lake won't be traded.

Our VFL team (mostly 21 year olds) were beaten by a quality side with much maturer bodies. Port Melbourne were undefeated all year, so I guess that means no AFL team has depth?

Hargrave and Gilbee yes. Giansiracusa had arguably a career best year this year.

What a surprise:rolleyes: Back to back GF then make the finals after a horrendous run of injuries and off field dramas. Played some very promising kids that will be better and have already added to ready made senior 22 players. Yet you would rather the WB a team that won't have it's best ruck best forward and best defender. LOL

Since when wont we have Lake next year? Had 1 bad injury interrupted year, and he is going to have a pre season this year, unlike last.

We also played a lot of kids. More than you, in fact. Ours played more games as well, and showed better form.

Dogs, although both are not in good shape.

Agree with most that St Kilda does have trading potential, due to depth of quality experience on their list. However, they have next to no young talent at all. It's remarkable that the club have allowed themselves to reach such a dire situation.

Likewise the bulldogs don't have the best kids and their top end experience is nowhere near the Saints, but the fact that they do have some kids puts them ahead of St Kilda. Like the look of Cordy, Roughead, Howard, Tutt and Wallis.

Bulldogs just.

You didn't even look like making the 8. StKilda have beaten you what is now 8 in a row? We played kids and we would have continued to if it wasn't for injury. Cripps Ledger Stanley Sippos Winmar all were restricted after promising starts. I'm sure with Watters we will see a hell of a lot of Walsh Heyne Stanley Simkin and co

We were in the exact same position as you in making the 8 at around round 15-16. We then got killed by injuries. We had no KPD except for Markovic and Mulligan, and had to play Cordy there as well. Our best midfielder was injured. Our FF had constant ankle injuries. As well as several other key players.

Some of your kids did get some injuries, yep. They still didn't show as much as ours did, when yours did get games.

The stars of your team are all over 25/26. You wont get much for them for trade anyway (bar Goddard). No one is going to give up a lot for 30 year olds.

When you guys get to the point where you have less than 30 gamers in nearly every KPP position, which will be in maybe 2 years , you will realise how much you are going to be struggling.

Yet the WB were carried by blokes that have retired or have major injury concerns. Keep hearing that you have good kids but were yet to see them do anything more than the Saints kids.

Boyd, Griffen and Murphy carried our team all year. Out of them, only Murphy has had a few injuries, and he got through the entire year.

If you are referring to Hall carrying us, he kicked 40 of his 60 odd goals in the last 8 games. This is the time where we were doing a lot worse than up to around round 16. So how is that carrying our team?

I rate Jack Steven and Cripps out of your kids. Especially Steven, I think he will be great. Siposs is probably next, and after that, there is nothing. We have more who showed better form, and for a longer period of time.

Hall was so far ahead of the next best it's a joke. You have a host of medium size but no quality key position players. Coordy looks a long way off with his body troubles. The young bloke Stkilda picked up from the Bullants has shown more than any of your kids.

No he wasn't. Not 1 Bulldogs fan would agree with that. Look at our "ching" award on our board. Boyd, Griffen, Murphy, Morris, all feature at the top, no sight of Hall. He played well at the end of the year, and we were doing a lot worse than we did at the start to the middle. It's fact, not opinion. He kicked two thirds of his goals in 8 games. It is impossible to argue, so I don't see why you are trying.

Saad hasn't played a single game at AFL level, so now you are just making yourself look like an idiot
