Yeah, Blummers had a great set of hands. I was always amazed at how easily he could take a mark under pressure, just seemed to put his mits up and the ball would stick.

But, its gotta be Wanganeen, i'm still not over his departure. His attempted goal in the dying stages of the final against the Bears in '96, that really brought home to me at the time what a massive loss he'd be :(

Oh, if only he stayed...

Prior, Wanganeen, Hardwick, Caracella, Moorcroft, Young (did he play any games for the hawks..cant remember)....as a kid, I loved Tony Antrobus!! What a lout but bloody fearless!!

well for me it was Paul Salmon? I mean yeah we got barnard and wellman but idolised salmon when i was a kid, he was a genuine superstar yet we booed him that day in a final against west coast. I could nderstand why he was dragged but i never heckled him.

At that stage essendons's prefered choice was somerville, what a wonderful player he was compared to salmon, not.

and Blake caracella took that mark in 1997 against geelong, we had a terrible ear that year and sheedy played heffernan i think for his first game. Blake starred and kicked a few goals and we won, it was the making of our dominant but underperfoming side of 99-01
