I have a feeling we're gonna see Geelong @ North/West Coast levels (and worse) for the next 5-7 years. Slight chance they'll prove me wrong but my head says Cats. The fact that they're willing to trade their first round pick for a player is evidence of the delusion they're under and are probably due for a plunge to the bottom as a consenquence to that delusion.

Their list under 25 is a bit thin.

Here are their players who are under 25 and have played more than 5 games

Jack Henry - 24.11
Tyson Stengle - 24.9
Gryan Miers - 24.4
Oisin Mullin - 23.5
Sam De-Koning - 22.5
Tanner Bruhn - 21.2
Oliver Henry - 21.0
Max Holmes - 20.11
Olli Dempsey - 20.6
Mitchell Knevitt - 20.6

It isn't a great group.
Well cats got into a grand final in 2025

For all the talk about Collingwood's old list, at least they're still contending.

Worst lists IMHO are teams like Melbourne who are an old list but bottom 6, or even Doggies to an extent with an older list but permanently in no-mans-land.

Would have thought Saints up until then making some list changes this year were bottom 4 for lists. NWM and King, Wilkie are the stars and Wilkie might end up leaving.

Saints list is at least young, so there's potential for building further in the future.

Which is why I highlighted Melbourne - most bottom teams have young lists and are in an obvious rebuild or just beginning to emerge from one. Dees still have a bunch of older blokes who will either be coming to the end or will need to be actively moved on.

They're like a year or two behind Richmond and several years behind any of the others.

King has already shipped off May, we potentially take Petracca off their hands too. I think a good cleanout of the players that won't be there for their next flag outside of Gawn and Lever should be traded or play at Casey, that's a start.

St Kilda for me.

Anyone on this list who is decent is being paid like a superstar. I guess that’s the price you have to pay when you’re St Kilda and no-one really wants to play there. I doubt there’s a single good contract on the books.

You can’t build a decent list when average footballers expect to get paid like superstars.

Any kid who plays decent next year is going to have their agent demanding they get paid.

Tom DeKoning’s deal alone will ruin the place for the next 8 years.

Saints have not paid close to the salary cap for the last couple of years and could afford TDK, sure now he has left Carlton you will bag him. Saints are pleased to have him.

We unlike some clubs ie Carlton do not have players leaving, the opposite Nasiah Wanganeen Milera, Windager, Hall, Phillapou, Owens, Hastie, Travaglia, Tauru, Wilson, Sharman and Boxhall is a very handy young core. With re signing of NWM, Windhager and Phillapou a great recognition of a positive future

The only reason we have players leaving is because Silvagni has a personal vendetta against Carlton, and is prepared to screw St Kilda's salary cap for the next 5-8 years just to get even.

Tom DeKoning's contract is the worst in the AFL and it's not even started. You've paid Jack Silvagni superstar money for someone who played 10 handy games in 2025 and prior to this was a fringe player who couldn't find a home forward or back. Otherwise the only player rumoured to want out is Charlie Curnow because Voss rightly called him a selfish and he's been sulking ever since.

There's two reasons why players aren't leaving St Kilda. That is unless you ignore Josh Battle, who I believe left for Hawthorn. The first reason is that you have hardly any decent players, and the St Kilda list is the biggest compilation of mediocrity of any AFL club. The other reason is the minute somoene shows a bit of promise (refer: Nas) they want to leave, and in sheer desperation to get them to stay you immediately make them the highest paid player in the AFL.

As I said. St Kilda - worst list in the AFL. Worst list mangement in the AFL. Worst president in the AFL. Personally, I don't mind Ross Lyon though even though I doubt he will ever win anything.

Would take the Saint list over Carlton's.

The vitriol from the Blues is consistent.

I'll go Essendon. A real nothing list, crap culture over a long period of time. But imagine trying to actually fix it and you've got the "powerbrokers" raging every couple years threatening a spill over. Yeah id love to coach that...

Essendon do have some decent youth - But yeah everything else seems to be falling apart at the seams right now.

Sorry dude but most people would be taking Saints list over yours.

Carlton. Not even close.

Anyone not picking them hasn't looked past the top 3-4 names on paper. Their depth is a complete and utter joke. Absolute spuds outside their best handful.

And their age profile isn't great reading either.
yes but you forget - they are spread over teams now.

It can really turn around quickly during the off season.

Melbourne would likely be one of the least desirable lists, they’ve lost some known players and could bottom out in 2027
