Once he is finally 'out' of the team (gameday), I think you will only be looking for reports on him in the NB .... or he will completely hang up his boots but stay around the club.

I think he should do the honorable thing and retire halfway through this season (or at worst end of this season) and do a coaching gig at mates rates.

Taking out of the equation how much he is being paid and what his attitude and experience brings to the team and basing my reply on football ability, no way should he be getting a game.
Is he capable of playing consistently good football or provide more output on the field? Can't see it happening mainly due to his body.
I feel he is playing bruise free football to reach his 15 game quota, and considering his injuries over the last few seasons probably a wise move. But still, he is occupying a spot on the ground and if his disposals were spot on, I would probably keep him in but at the moment he's hurting us.

I would much rather see one of our "queried players" come in and given a good run at it, so that if they are cut from the list, we know they were given a good crack at it and there is little doubt that they struggled at the highest level. Graham, Buckley, Jaksch, Sheehan have shown glimpses but need to step up a level and would probably have the same output as Daisy but with more upside if they do step up.

Polson and Cuningham would probably provide the same output at the moment as Daisy but have heap more upside long term.

Will work itself out - between Bolton, MC and Thomas a decision will be made over the coming weeks. If we were contending for finals then Daisy would be gone already, seeing we are playing (probably start rotating) a large number of kids, Daisy keeps his place for now as patience is possible, but clearly he is under pressure (including self-imposed) as his reputation for now has given/(gifted?) him a place over players like Graham and Kerridge. A decision will be made, but by CFC and not BF.

Just noting that Sheehan is in a different category to the others - has missed largely due to injury (not lack of consistency, ability, or effort like the others mentioned) - did show a "very good glimpse" several years ago and has been in the rehab group pretty much ever since! Polson certainly looks ready to go and potentially looks like a real draft steal; the enigma that is Jaksch has recently stepped it up, and maybe, just maybe, he might soon start to realise his potential, particularly with us having a forward line that is wanting (Jaksch up forward means Charlie can potentially help out Crippa); Buckley just has to string games together and show consistency from week to week (he has shown enough in games to show he can make it - he also is a spirited team-lifter which I like); Cuningham has pace and should make it - needs to just show a little bit more and have more confidence in himself; Graham, whilst prolific with the ball is just back-up for now (same as Kerridge) unless he can turn-around his disposal/decision-making a la Carrazzo.

I always find it slightly amusing listening to Carlton supporters at our games. Thomas misses a target or turns the ball over, "you're a spud Thomas", "you're a hack", " piss off Thomas". Cripps, Docherty, Kreuzer, Murphy, Simpson etc etc miss a target or turn the ball over......crickets.
Rubbish.

Agree with what you have stated, the point I am trying to make is all of the above mentioned can provide the same output on the field as Thomas and can improve with further game time, whereas Daisy has peaked and will never be the player he once was.

I largely agree with you. Maybe (because of reputation, contract, coaching nouse, "well-liked bloke factor"?) the MC are just allowing things to roll on a bit whilst more kids are given opportunities to show what they have. If SPS were to get dropped we'd all expect him to come back into the side given what he's shown he can do to date; if Thomas gets dropped, then given what has transpired, that could well be it! I think that given our circumstances (re-build), Thomas is getting (has the luxury of?) a final chance to show something so he can at least potentially go out with one last bang, rather than a whimper? I must admit that at the moment I do notice when Thomas makes a clanger; with his modest number of possessions he has to make them all count!

PS I think Thomas could make a good assistant coach when he retires - no slouch and certainly well-liked by his fellow players.

PPS Who leads CFC with "clangers" (turn-overs) and more appropriately ratio of "clangers"/disposals?

Why have a poll if the 7 out of 10 negative opinions are construed as hate, anti-daisy and agenda driven? The people have spoken - delist.
Because the difference between what people are saying and what they want is 2 cleaner kicks a game and more of a role around the stoppages. Go look at his career stats and tell me what the key differences are between him now, and him at his peak. It's actually not that much.

He tries too much at break neck speed without putting faith in his body to give him an opening or cushion, and that indecision shows. Then everyone heaps it on him, and he compounds the issues further running himself ragged. Everyone needs to calm down, including Daisy.

The day I see him getting mowed down from behind is the day I'll know he's past it. Until then, he's a chance to find his feet again.

I'm somewhere between the bottom two options. He's got his issues but the biggest is by far how much people heap it on him.

He's a flair & confidence player, and I don't think his body has robbed him of a great deal of confidence since after his first year with us, but the crowd and media opinion probably have.

Constructive criticism is fine, but the weekly line of people patting their baseball bats is just dumb and must have a toll.
I'm between the top two option myself. Would keep on the list next year at a much reduced salary, but knowing that he will be VFL level with the NB. He can mentor and coach the young players on the field there in a playing and coaching role.

Given his previous high-profile not sure if he'd play on with the NBs? I know Jordan Russell took the Bulldogs seconds to a premiership as their captain. Maybe you have something, Daisy as a designated captain/assistant coach with the NBs?

It's nothing against the bloke, he's just finished. Would be more than happy to keep him around the club in an off-field capacity as I think he offers quite a bit in that regard.

Top 6 for each
Average clangers:

1. Palmer = 6
2. Gibbs = 4.3
3. Armfield = 4
4. Kerridge = 3.5
4. Thomas = 3.5
6. Docherty = 3
6. Cripps = 3
6. Murphy = 3

Clanger/disposal ratio (disposals per clanger):
1. Palmer = 2
1. Kerridge = 2
3. Armfield = 2.4
4. Pickett = 3.4
5. Casboult = 4.4
6. Thomas = 5

Total clangers:
1. Gibbs = 17
2. Thomas = 14
3. Murphy = 12
3. Cripps = 12
3. Docherty = 12
6. Simpson = 11
6. Curnow, Ed = 11
6. Marchbank =11

The most damning statistic for me is his tackle count. He only has 6 tackles in 4 games. The only guys below him that have played all games are Weitering and Rowe, and you wouldn't expect your full forward and full back to be high in the tackles. The others below him are Fisher (1 game), Smedts (2 games), Army (2 games), Kerridge (1 game), Palmer (1 game).

Been very obvious. Defensive liability. Simply can't tackle and when he tries to bump it's embarrassing
