Roughead and Riewoldt aren't great 'contested' marks but they get almost all their marks on the lead through separation.

Cloke, Hawkins, Casboult, Hogan

Fair point. But one on one they can be difficult propositions. Seen roughie cut up port through contested marking, plus his other talents

If you consider putting a hand up and trying to get the ball front and square a contested mark then yeah, Roughead would be up there. Otherwise, not so much.

Hawkins the best one on one. Cloke the best pack mark.

Kurt Tippett was extremely good for us when it came to pack marks, always seemed to mark it even with 5 people hanging off him.

Cloke above head easily, Hawkins chest/ grappling easily, H Taylor for intuition/intercept rebound, Fyfe for aerial prowess and top midfield contested marker, Casboult for big pack marking crash and bash.

pretty spot on, on his day Carsile would be up there, at the moment for Essendon it would be Hooker, and in a few years when he adds some strength Daniher will be up there.

Nick is comfortably on top for the number of contested marks taken since they started recording the stat in 1999 and his career average of 1.98 per game is not far off Trav Cloke's 2.09 or Barry Hall's 2.02 (from 1999 onwards) and he is ahead of Johnno Brown's 1.91, Tredrea's 1.88 and Hawkins' 1.87, but he doesn't take anywhere near as many of them these days and works up the ground more than he probably ever has.

Agree. Contested marking beast. Gets overlooked due to his tank and ability to mark on incredibly long hard leads

Rough is better on the ground than he is in the air these days. He'd be a better contested mark if he hadn't have developed a habit of going for grabs with one hand.
