Analysis Who is our next captain?

Dumb question, but who actually makes this decision?

Players vote, and then the coaches/executive choose, taking the player vote into consideration.

I really liked the structure of a captain and two vice captains, with one on each line. Perhaps it could be:

Forwards: Lynch (VC)
Mids: Dusty (VC)
Defenders: Grimes (C)

Wouldn't have said Dusty this time last year, but his really grown into an unofficial captain and king of the kids now anyway. During the praccy games, when it was the young uns at the centre bounce, Dusty was the one calling them in and instructing.

Don't know if he'd want the extra attention and media work.

Yeah I doubt he would be captain for this reason. He'd still play a role on field however. Grimes is the one for me. Cool head and leads by example.

I really like how we've been stressing for ages that we expect all players to be leaders even if they don't have an official role. With that attitude I don't think we can really go wrong. Grimes, edwards or vlastuin most likely for mine

Lambert has been increasing his media duty’s over the past few seasons and is a Smokey for mine

might not get the big C but definitely a chance to get the VC imo

Ask Dusty. If he wants the job it's his, else you could appoint any of another 5 or 6 players. Grimmes , Vlas, Prestia , Jack , Lynch, Lambert and more.

Exactly and that’s why he won’t be captain. Some suggesting it’s cause he isn’t a leader

Dusty is better at the media than Tex bloody Walker, other than captains day and making a speech when collecting the premiership cup, I'm sure we could get a VC to do the other interviews when they are needed.

Interestingly Richo thinks it will be Grimes. He probably knows more than us.

If we are still competing for flags Grimes would be perfect.
If we are starting to rebuild Vlaustin would be better. I think he would blend the new and old better
