Who gives a crap about three pointers.

Pull up jump shots are harder than three pointers to shoot and make.

The fact you have some centres hitting threes at a decent clip tells you shooting them isn't that hard of a task in the modern game.
Bit bored today so I’m willing to take a trip down another whacky Bostonian lane.

Let’s start with who’s the best shooter if Curry isn’t?

Miller and Bird to start with.

Both would have Curry covered for pure shooting from all distance ranges under all conditions.

DELUSIONAL

Still can't understand how Curry STILL doesn't get the credit he deserves

Imagine if he was 6'10'' like Bird or 6'7'' like Reggie

Guy is 6'2'' can shoot the lights out off the dribble, create his own shots

What more do you want?

Ray Allen was handy.

Chris Mullin FG% was 50% from for his career. Even the shooters from that generation rarely shot the 3 though (including Larry Bird). Both only had a handful of seasons where they maxed at attempted 3 x 3s per game.

Stats certainly don’t back this up. Without taking anything away from those two who were terrific shooters, Steph has a higher TS% than both. By all metrics Curry is the best shooter in history.

Reggie, a fairly astute commentator himself doesn’t even agree with you

Haha **** me anyone who has followed basketball for a long time knows defending now is harder than ever with all the rules that have been introduced to make it easier for players to score.

Shooting threes is easier now than ever when defenders can't even get super close seeing as they have to give the shooter space to land.

You're ****ing delusional if you think a guy who is protected by the rule book is a superior shooter to guys who were hitting it from all over the court and far, far greater physical pressure.

They would have broken the slight Curry many a time with defense back then.

Steph plays in an era where you can't play hard physical defence anymore.

Miller played in a time where hand checks were still legal and you didn't have to give shooting players any room to land.

Steph has faced feather duster defence for many years now.

Suppose Downtown Freddie Brown also had him covered

That's because soft **** ball wasn't a thing back then.

You still had big men with wonderful post up games and hard defence.

Everyone keeps harping on about shooting threes like it's harder to do than a Jordan jump shot with multiple defenders in his face.

So just as a reference Miller, an open catch and shoot player, was taking harder shots than a guy who creates all his own shots off the dribble against defenses that are literally set up with the sole purpose of stopping him.

You’re so far out of your depth here it isn’t even funny.

Oh so you want someone who creates his own shot, yeah bird has him covered there. So does Jordan.

Out of my depth?

What defences are you talking about in modern day basketball?

You're talking like the defensive side of the game is the same as it once was. It's not. Not even close.

It's piss easy for offensive players in this modern game.

You think Harden is euro stepping through defences back then without getting pulverised under the basket?

There's more witches hats on defence in the NBA today than there ever was.

Another offended hater

You would have to be the only person on the planet that thinks Curry isn't the Greatest ever to shoot the ball

Stop with the crap about the old days defence etc. The man would still score

So in essence, 99.9% of players and pundits from both eras are wrong and you’re right. Why do you do this to yourself on every board.
