Nup.. no spine and Fev will be gone when you are ready to challengeCarlton has got more 'stars' and 'game breakers' on their list, however Collingwood have got more depth, a more solid backline and players who produce on a more consistent basis.
However going foward, and looking at relative potential of both lists, it's Carlton quite easily actually (ditto Richmond for that matter as well) over Collingwood

Fev has 4 years left in him at least. He's turning 28 - he isn't ancient. He'll see a flag.
ATM Collingwood. In 1 or 2 years, us.
And take a look at all past champion full forwards and how many goals they kicked after 28.
As for the future we have the spine and the mids.
Under 23yr team:

that many? they only have Judd, Stevens, Fevola and Murphy.Collingwood easily. Carlton have 6 players, Collingwood have 22
Collingwood are an interesting team.
I think the fact that they just lose games they shouldn't lose stops them from being Top 4 sides. Certainley I think they could have gotten there this year ahead of the Saints, but losing to Carlton twice, Essendon and then Fremantle just killed them.
I think Thomas will step up and be a real game breaker for Collingwood, something they need in my opinion. He'll be the type of bloke who steps up when everybody else is down and do enough to win them games. But still put in a good performance when everybody is firing.
Pendlebury and Swan are great midfielders, and Lockyer is underrated as well. Their midfield looks inferior on paper, but it gets the job done alot of the time.
Quite a few good looking KPP forwards as well. Cloke's the obvious, but Reid and Rusling look pretty good. Anthony played their a bit this year too, but im not sure if hes some sort of nutty utility because hes listed on Fanfooty as being a midfielder.Their backline goes alright too.
There kids have the runs on the board unlike the Carlton lineup. Pies group has played finals two years in a row, and been pretty good in their matches against the Cats, who have been the benchmark for two years now.![]()
