I reckon the boys went into the Adelaide game with a bit of a blase attitude and got rolled early. About halfway through the second quarter there was a popping schloop sound as they pulled their fingers out and they went on to win the game, just. I'm hoping that was the inevitable wakeup call, and not a loss in the next few weeks.

That said, Collingwood concerns me. As does Brizbane.

I reckon we'll have Collingwood's measure this year the way we're playing.

There is no team I want to beat more than Collingwood this year. Going to last years game was one of the worst football games I have gone too. Boy did the crowd give it to us Geelong fans, still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

I hate that scum and want to see them get belt by 150 points and believe me when I say I let them know about it!

For me it was one of the worst half a game of football I'd been to ;)

But would agree with the rest of your sentiments there. We play Collingwood at the G, but it's our home game yeah?

I was there with my father in law, a former Collingwood player in the past player's section. It was a soul-destroying game. By the third quarter I had to laugh. Especially after this incident: I was sitting next to a former CFC president, can't rememebr his name but he would have been 80 not-out. He was a little bit hard to hear and softly spoken. Some incident happened and all the barrackers were shouting cos they didn't get a free kick. They were 80 odd points up at the time. Then I heard this gravelly old man's voice next to me "Bloody umpires, I hate those bastards. Wouldn't even let one set foot in my house the lousy... I've never met a worse sort of bloke..." and so on for another 30 seconds. He wasn't speaking to anyone, just content to mutter it to himself. Amazing isn't it, even the young supporters now seem to be the same with the umpires.

So I'm really hoping for a win...

I guess the Bummers since they can beat all the big teams atm. Brisbane might cause an upset (thats a big might) but we will bring our A-game against Sydney and should win down in Geelong.

I'm confident (well, as confident as a Geelong supporter can be) about the two home games coming up - Brisbane and Sydney.

Not confident at all about Collingwood - I can't recall a decent period of time when we've ever had the wood over them, they even beat us in 2005 when they won five games for the entire season - or the Bulldogs.

Freo should also be a 'danger game' - they will be keen to avenge on our win there last season and if their 2007 is anything like their 2006 they will be in the midst of a winning streak!

I think the first 3 years of Bomber's tenure we beat them pretty consistently, including that memorable game in 2000 when we were 5 or 6 goals down at 1/2 time and ended up pipping them at the post.

Our team this year, especially after the Roos game, seem to have a steely resolve about them, as evidenced in their gritty win on the weekend. I have a feeling we won't leave anything in the tank this week, since we have the following week to recover. We also discovered that we can win ugly too, by playing our 2004 brand of football, or win well by running all over sides.

The Bombers game will be huge, as if we win the next two, and they win the next two, it'll be a team on a 8 game winning streak playing a team on a 6 game winning streak. TD will be filled to capacity in that game, and that's if they don't move it to the MCG.

Like someone else said before, the only team who can bring us back to earth is ourselves. Let's hope it doesn't happen.

It should be the same answer every week - THE NEXT GAME !!!!!!!!!!!

Just looking at our draw for the rest of the season, finding it hard to pick the game that will break our winning streak.

Anyone got any feelings on the matter?

The end of season trip should bring a few into line.;)

A fool would expect a 100% strike rate for the rest of the season. I doubt it will be enough to knock the boys from the perch they are on currently though.
