Oh i didn't mean it in the genocide way

I meant it in the long time a go he probably stood for something but now he just wants to feel important and rambles on and on even though noone cares anymore

way

I still like DT. He's a good poster! v:)v

Not so keen on his current thread though, but whatever. It's their board so they're welcome to discuss whatever they want. I'm certainly not going to post a thread on our board making fun of them for it. ;)

Maybe someone has footage of Shaun Burgoyne hitting Bassett when he had his head down running into the middle about 5 years ago (since we are talking old footage?

Who will make it #8 for reports this season in this match??

I don't think they'll target anyone in particular, but if I had to put money on the player mostly likely to end up injured, I'd go Edwards. He got banged up pretty good by Brogan last time but was able to jump straight up. He's still very important to us and will be in the thick of things, but all things considered is a relatively small body.

No question they'll go in hard (as they should) but that will be towards everyone, not just particular players.

I can't help but think Walker (Trent Hentschel paranoia), but he might be too big, especially with Tippett down there too.
If Matt Thomas goes near our forward line, I'll probably run onto the field and shephard Walker myself! :D

As Dandy said, most likely Bernard.
I also think Dangerfield may have a bit of a target on his back, but I think he could be in for a big game too.

LOVE IT! :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu: Our "19th man" will run on and protect him!
They're just soft going after guys younger and/or smaller than them *cough* Brogan going after Bernie. It's about time Brogan goes up to Rutten and see how he pulls up then. (I can see a Lade/whoever that Melbourne player was reenactment because Brogan would sh*t himself if Truck comes within swinging distance)

everyone has their weakness :D

The only way port will win is if their few "in and under" types have blinders, passing it out to the line up of receivers on their list.

Or they do the usual "knock adelaide down to 20 men so we can over run them" tactic

between talking about going broke, borrowing the soul of another team and not getting talked about enough in the advertiser, I guess the Crows board is the only other topic

You can only bleat on about History for so long before even Port Power supporters bore themselves with it.

They target the weakest link (Jericho) or people looking the other way (Basset/Biglands)

I like these threads before games. They are good for a bit of a laugh.

But one thing, assuming you are talking about the same incident, I believe it was Rhett Biglands that decided to line up Lord Byron of Canterbury from about 30m away. I also believe that Lord Byron did not notice this person 20kg heavier and 20cm taller than him was charging towards him until the last second. The fact that Mr. Big Day Out fell flat on his arse says more about him, as opposed to any Port thuggery in this instanc

Walker will be right. Would've had worse in BH.
Spot on CC,

I can't imagine the lads from BH enjoying a 17 year old with a mullet booting 7 goals against them.

I lost my head in the road 3 showdown, yelling throwing things, making neck cutting signs at Brogan.

I was surprised noone jumped the fence to punch a Port player, that's how angry I was.

But the extacy of winning that game and them..... showdown medal..... BERNARD!!!!!

I think they'll go after a skinny boy, not Tex, though he'll cop it, he'll be fine.

Maybe D-Mac, Cook/Jacky or even Griffin.

Time our big blokes got involved and dished out a few fair but hard hits on the serial snipers amongst that mob of downhill skiers down the road.
Any of our blokes under 85 ks are at risk behind play as they always are in Showdowns.

I know that;) But he got hurt!

And since we're sticking with the "B" category how about Begley!

There won't be much "thuggery" but it will be interesting to see Port's approach. They have been talking up their stronger bodies all pre season and vowed to have a tougher approach at the footy. All this has really added up to so far is 5 reports and a couple of very poor losses, plus one very good win against the Hawks, which wasn't particulary intense IMO.

Williams is now plainly trying to fire up Josh Carr as was Francou in his Monday column.

Last yar in the Showdown IMO Port lost because they gave away too many frees and if they follow teh approach of being tougher, they run the risk of doing it again.

Having said that it is a fine line and you need to push that line if you are going to play hard intense football.

Last year I think a couple of things were over the line but others thought not and that's fair enough.

All things said should be a ripper of the game. We will defeinitely play the gall though and not the man and that's what I like to see.

Whether Port get the blance right to their approach will have a big bearing on the game IMO.

Looking forward to it.

As an aside, the bump between Jarman and Pickett in the 98 Grand Final was terrific. Both hit hard, both went to ground adn both got straight back up. Great to see, because they both epected and wanted contact. That's tough footy.

I'm not too worried about Port thuggery this weekend. Their football team has the hardness of a blamonge these days. Brogan is a wannabe tough guy who has only ever inflicted pain on physically inferior and defenceless people. His football career is nearly over because he just aint a very good footballer. As for Josh Carr, bwahahaha. He probably wont even make the side. Hes never done anything courageous in his life. He WAS a cheap sniper at best. I think his career is over.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Adelaide use Ports own tactics agains us and go after Krakour and Boak, Even possibly Gray. I would love to see it comming from both sides. But as this is a who will Port target, Deff, Walker and I think Vince as he is a genuine star, I think Paddy Dangerfield may cop some treatment aswell and wouldnt be surprised Kurt Tippet and John Griffen come under close attention!

Valid point there Macca. Notice how the Cow supporters disregard their own players "misdemeanors" but still have the nerve to talk about "port thuggery".

The hypocricy here is making a fool of you all.

Gee i hope David Granger manages to knock someone out this week? oh wait, didn’t he retire about 25 years ago. That’s the same as Mark Bickley, he is also retired about 6 years ago so he is NO LONGER A PLAYER.

The players people are whinging about being thugs are still playing – that the different you candy arse, pie loving dough bag.

So you can prove some precedent where Crows player target the man, not the ball.

Mark Bickley is a good example, if only he didn’t retire 6 years ago.
