Dempsey and Lovett are like chalk and cheese in the back half.

Dempsey is more accountable, better overhead and a far better spoiler than Lovett. Dempsey can matchup on taller forwards. Lovett should never be played in the backline.

We should really try to get someone like Kerr or Rosa that could bolster the midfield & loosen up outside players like Dyson, Lovett & Nashy..

Going to have to disagree.

Granted, Dempsey's better overhead. However, Lovett's accountability on ANZAC Day was no worse than Courtenay's.

And Dempsey can line up on bigger forwards? I doubt that severely.

Lovett shouldn't be played in the backline, but that's because he gives us much more in the midfield.

I agree with your list of departures and possible departures, but we definitely shouldn't be targetting Matt Rosa.

Rosa's purely a front runner, without a physical or defensive bone in his body. Let's target the opposite of him.

Monfries, Slattery and NLM may be in trouble if there contract is up, otherwise may look at trades.

Agreed, someone like Tim Boyle would be a decent pickup though, but to be honest I wouldn't want to trade much in a strong draft.
 
Lonergan, Hocking, Hislop, Houli, and Monfries should be made to baulk up a bit for next season, (like the Bulldogs have done from last year) and should be played in the centre square. Develop them in to the inside midfielders role.

Throw in McVeigh and Watson in that group and we shouldn't allow anyone else to go near the centre square apart from the Ruckman during centre bounces.

Winderlich, Lovett, Dyson, Stanton can be the ball carriers. Playing in the wing. Throw in Myers in that group.

Davey and Jetta should be played forward in the forward line for the crumbs and forward line pressure.

Reimers, Nash and Dempsey can give us the run off the backline. Reimers is good in the forward line also.

I like it, although I would like Houli running off half back he seems comfortable there.

Why the ____ would you want Houli, Hislop and Hocking to baulk up even more? :confused:

FWIW no team in the competition is going to survive if they only have seven players rotatting through the MF in this day and age.

We would not win a game, ever, if we were to adopt this plan.

You`re only as strong on the field as you`re off it.

1.Who is head of recruiting?
2.Who is part of the recruiting team?
3.Who is head of the football department?
4.Who is part of the football department team?
5.Who is responsible for player development?
6.Why is our player development so poor?
7.Why has it taken so long to address the problems with our list?
8.Why do we still have players on our list who after 4/5 years are no closer to being a regular AFL player than when they first started?
9.What is Peter Jacksons title and job description?
10.Has his job description changed since he first started?

Because he has been on the list for four (I think) years, has played I think 4 unremarkable games (I can't remember a thing about how he played those games), and is remarkably injury prone.

It's a tough world, and we need to be very ruthless. Players like Lee and Johns are dead wood on the list.

Knights was the best choice for coach, and we have to give him ago despite his loss-win ratio, any how we will be the team to beat and by 2011 we should have a grand final under us!:thumbsu::)
