This was in reference to our prelim team of 2017? GAJ is an automatic IN for me. Yes we do have him now, but I thought OP referred to the prelim 22.
Wojo was one of my all time favourites, unique speed that could devastate opposition; didn't do it much in finals, but to have him there is a weapon

Nah it isn’t in reference to our prelim side, I just copy pasted that as it was our last selected team and edited the names in and out for simplicity. I missed one here and there but you get the jift of it. Just takes too long from scratch to write the whole team.

OK as we do indeed have GAJ, I will add another unique contributor, SJ
The recent form of Bartel and SJ has slightly diluted my rating of them which is crazy, because they are must haves.
Max is another unique must have.

3. Chappy is an upgrade over Menzel
4. SJ as another forward is needed
5. Scarlett to control the backline
6. Wojo for some pace out of defence

guys like Enright, Bartel, Corey are great players but those are the 6 i think we'd need most

Fairly decent bunch of players there Dave, I'd go with Mooney myself, a sixty plus goals CHF would balance that side perfectly; as much as it pains me I'd probably leave out Bartel, reckon our current midfield plus Chappy and SJ would get the job done.

Ottens - Best ruckman going around. Won us the 07 Prelim.
Ling - A genuine stopper, with the ability to win his own ball. Also a leader of others.
Scarlett - exactly what we are missing at the moment
Rooke - Pressure in the forward half
Wojcinski - The run we need off half back
Kelly - Defensive tackling Machine.

Would love to have also added Chappy and Corey

Would eliminate the requirement for the following to play for Geelong again Stanley, Thurlow, and Murdoch

Based on 2007 form, adding Ottens, Chappy, Scarlett, Bartel, Moons, SJ and Harley as Captain to any side in the comp this year would make them Premiership favourites.

Scarlett .... would gel and make our backline more attacking
Ottens ..... Danger, Selwood and Ablett at his feet ..yes please
Rooke....... The game is even more in a style that would Max. Could easily have chosen ... Ling or Harley or perhaps Bartel but the mids are sort of covered.
Milburn..... Could easily have gone Boris but Milburns hardness appeals
Chapman.. Tougness and goals , flip of the coin between him and SJ
Mooney.... Worked well with TH ..others are better players but a glaring weakness.

Did Mooney really work well with Hawkins?

Mooney was done by 2011 when Hawkins had his break out.

Up until then Tom was a 2nd ruck / spare parts player.

Mooney was a much better footballer than Tom too, just not as physically big.
