^^ OMG! Nobody cares about your meaningless stats you numbskull!!

Tippett wins this poll hands down.

I would bet $1000 you are a female under 20 years old.

Anyway, nice timing on making the poll, where Tip is playing at the best he's played in his career, and hoff the worst after being out for 8 or more weeks and struggling in his first couple games back where we got smashed by bulldogs away (no service to our forwards) and geelong away.

has tippet ever played a good game against a player like Glass i remember westhoff flogged him in like his 5th game

 Does it even matter how old I am? It appears that I was right anyway.

Westhoff is a forward, he is paid to kick goals. To suggest that a forward who has never kicked more than 4 goals in a game has 'flogged' anyone is laughable. He is serviceable. Like Ebert.

Hoff played 22 games last season he kicked 22.15 and got 10 HO's. So his form hasn't been flash for a while.

Tip this year has 27.15 and 163 HO's. That last stat is the important one. On top of the goals he kicks himself he creates others with a string to his bow that Westhoff doesn't have. Careerwise 281 HO's to 14.

The poll was suggested after yet another ridiculous Thurstans > McLeod type comparison as to who you would rather. Seems it's rather underwhelming to those who think any of the 4 Westhoff's can play.

^Westhoff doesn't ruck.

Westhoff was also pick 86 or something ridiculous like that, so for a key player, regardless of any comparisons, you'd have to say we've gotten great value from him.

I haven't watched a lot of tippett play, but has he been playing a traditional CHF role? I ask because that's what hoff did for 2008 and yes he found it hard at times. In 2007, he was pretty much a full forward.

The crows have reason to be excited about their forward line, but I think the rubbishing of hoff is bullshit in itself.

Its not rubbishing, its a comparison of the two SA clubs brightest young key forwards.

Well if we're comparing key forwards, Hoff>Tippett. More goals, more marks. More consistency. Isn't living off one game against the Essendon rookie list defence.

Im gonna say Tippet.........but only because he is their main target up forward. What goes against Westhoff is the fact we have other more skillful players (Tredrea, Motlop, Gray) who can kick bags of goals.....something the Crowbots don't seem to have....well except Walker.......oh hang on he was dropped :p

Do the names Porplyzia, Knights, Dangerfield and (eventually) Burton ring a bell? With Douglas, Vince, Van Berlo and Stevens chipping in a few. Yes, we really dont have any small forwards

And its spelt Tippett btw ;)

As I said, this is as a result of a Port supporter chest thumping that Hoff would be picked before Tippett.

The fact that Hoff doesn't ruck is kind of the point. One forward who has never kicked more than 4 goals in a game and doesn't assist Port's ageing ruck stocks compared to another, who is a year later for debut that has kicked 5 or more twice now, plus has the ability to move around the ground in the ruck. Tipp is a more rounded player. Hoff is not flexible.

Hoff however, is a great pick up for number he went in the draft. I don't think anyone would argue that.

Hoff will never be able to be the main target.

And now five against Richmond. Two less than the game saving effort of Tredrea.

Hoff got three against that same backline. With Motlop getting four.

Knights got five............Come to think of it when was the last time a Port mid scored more than two goals??

Burton - injured.
Porp - yep.
Knights - not a forward
Dangerfield - not a forward

Burton - The reason I wrote "(eventually)" was because he's injured. He will come back in a few weeks and be back up in our forward line.

Knights - Yeah , he's a midfielder, but he's playing the role of a crumbing forward as well. 14 goals in 3 weeks. Has been a tad quiet recently, but he can still be classed as a small forward :D

Dangerfield - Like-wise in terms of a midfielder playing up forward, but hasn't had results like Knights has.

Plus with Walker and a developing Smack coming along, it seems that we're doing fine in terms of having options up forward :)

Don't care what potential your future forward line has.

We are talking about players who have kicked bags and impacted Westhoff or Tippetts ability to score i.e. Tredrea, Motlop and to a lesser extent Ebert and Gray.

Dangerfield probably never will kick a bag. Burton hasn't had a huge influence for a while (Injured), "Smack" has only had one game so i'm not sure why you would bring him up.

Whatever. You purposely misread my words in an attempt to swing the argument your way.

Besides, if you had any knowledge about our players (excluding what the media tells you) then I might actually pay attention to what you were saying. Considering you don't, your opinion means nothing to me.

Really? I don't think I did.

These players do not often kick bags.
Thanks for playing.

To be fair, 4 of those goals came against Silvester, a 2nd game rookie drafter who we had to see what he had, before we moved him off at half time. Tredrea played on McGuane, who gave away only one goal against Tippett in the second half.

LOL about all the power ferrals. Westoff is one of the biggest hacks in the AFL and wouldn't even get a game a Melbourne. He should stick to playing footy for the bogan bulldogs. Tippet will be a star in the future and will Walker, will a force in the years to come.

Depending what the definition of a "bag" is. I'm going by 4 goals or more.

Chris Knights has, 3 weeks in a row. If he works up some form, will do so again. :thumbsu:

Porplyzia, kicked 4 in round 3 and round 13, he definitely has the skills to do it again.

Dangerfield hasn't yet, but with more development in his goal kicking, will sometime in the future.

Burton definitely has, obviously not this year due to injury, but has in the past and will kick more in the future.

And I never said that Douglas, Vince, Van Berlo or Stevens kick bags. I said "Chipping in a few".

Isn't tippet a ruckman?

Yes, he was playing in the ruck earlier this year occasionally swinging down to help out our forwards. He's now being played as a permenant full-forward. He might have to come back into the ruck though with Moran out injured.

But apparently Tippett has only played 1 good game despite kicking more goals in a game than Westhoff ever will.
