Food, Drink & Dining Out Why are there no Krispy Kreme stores in WA?

Can't beat one or two to fuel up for the return trip from camping up the coast :thumbsu:

But any, this thread was about why they aren't in WA, not how much fat is in their product. Although that could be a reason. Carry on.

I buy some at my local Coles that are glazed, taste a hell of alot like the ones at Krispy Kreme, I'm in Adelaide though

My dad brought back a box of them from Melbourne, tried one and was not impressed. Dont see what the big deal is.

Same, my cousin bought some of the glazed over from Canberra and tried one and thought really? this is it?

There's a shop open at Garden City called 'Dreamy Donuts' that do them very similar to Krispy Kreme from the looks of it, haven't had the urge to try any myself yet but they seem reasonably popular

Dreamy's are good. Like them a lot.

Even had a bit of a look at bringing them to Carindale in Bris with a franchise. But in the end, who wants to be a small retailer in a Westfield?

They're going the way of Starbucks here in Melbourne, it seems.

One by one their small sites are disappearing and it's no surprise given i've never once seen anyone frequenting these stores.

I don't wish ill will on anyone but i'm not overly disappointed that they (along with Starbucks and Gloria Jeans) are dying a slow death in Melbourne given the terrible quality and poor nutrition of the product they're pushing.

Thankfully Melburnians are slowly realising that the big coffee franchises produce something barely above instant in terms of quality and are deserting them in droves, and it seems like the same is happening with abominations like Krispy Kreme.

Never said they were good or did good work, just that they (and other coffee franchises and independent cafes) are pretty established in Adelaide, so there was no need to bring Starbucks into the mix here as they did a few years back, and the fact that it failed was proof of that.

everyone in Adelaide knows Cibo is better. :thumbsu:

although Adelaide Coffee Bar is excellent. closed on weekends unfortunately.

They seem to have an amazing similarity in financial performance, no matter where the store is located.

Massive growth for the first 12 months, followed by a steady decline into closure over the next 2-3 years.

Krispy Kreme was in Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the US a few years ago.

I've never heard that in my life.

It's suprisingly common, and isn't usually said in an ironic "I know the correct pronounciation, but I'll say it in an uncultured ocker way just for a laugh" either.

I'm going to make assumptions based on your AFL team and the circles you therefore move in:p

I don't know any Collingwood supporters outside of my parents, either :p

Bugger Krispy Kreme.

The more important question is why the hell is ...

Excellent question. WA is now the only state/territory where you can't get Farmer's Union. I always hold out hope when I visit that they will have seen the error of their ways but to no avail. Disappointing.

Being an expat Adelaide boy it's a tragic circumstance, I can assure you!
