What do you mean by old school? The only C&W I've ever really liked is Johnny Cash (if that's even classified C&W?) Can't remember their names but the C&W stars who were big in the 90s (Garth Brooks? Travis Tritt?) were absolutely vomit inducting

Pre-80's. Not that I own any of it myself, but the old man had albums by Kenny Rogers, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Charley Pride, Conway Twitty that I didn't mind. Also a lot by Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash that didn't appeal. He trained greyhounds so the car radio was on 3UZ a lot, and they always played country between races. Lots of Dolly Parton...
