Not anti-immigration. But at some stage uncontrolled immigration tests everything.

It used to be refugees from war or famine zones, or family reunions (with conditions), or selective occupations. No longer.

Do you think migration to another country should be controlled? By what means?

Truthfully, I think migration and refugee intake has to have some correlation with the infrastructure and services and employment available. If the intake outstrips what resources are available to ensure their welfare in their new host country then that disadvantages them, the local population AND the State as a whole.

It would become untenable.

In Africa imposing arbitrary borders which frequently grouped traditionally hostile tribes together and then using that hostility as evidence of the black man's savagery was a a particular favoured colonial pastime. It provided the Brits with the blueprint for the continued occupation of the six counties too.

The Arab world did the same also. They just don't have descendants of said slaves living in their nations because they castrated the male slaves so they couldn't reproduce.

Saudi, which was one of the biggest user of slaves over the past millennia, also shoots on sight anyone attempting to cross the border from African nations, as noted by the slaughter of hundreds of Ethiopians attempting to cross the border just last year.

Countries outside of Africa have also poured trillions back into the continent, yet it appears to have improved little due to rampant corruption.

Unfortunately the West is currently obliged to do so, because China is currently filling the void by throwing billions at impoverished nations to form debt traps they cannot get out of. Prime example being Sri Lanka.

Ethiopia(which was never colonised, although was invaded by Italy in 1930) is currently broke yet recently announced they are spending $10b in a new presidential palace and villas.

The 'European' thing is just recency bias, especially considering one of the biggest culprits in the current ongoing perpetrators of oppression in Africa is Nestle, a company founded in Switzerland, which is a country not exactly known for its colonial ambitions.
