The current migrant/refo crisis in Europe started because of Western interference in ME/NA countries after the public uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt and because the Europeans and the US destroyed the sovereign state of Libya which acted as a bit of a buffer. If Africa hadn't been ****ed for centuries they'd have no reason to leave.

I think you entirely missed the point about there being constant conflicts/enslavements of neighbouring peoples, just like the rest of the world at the time.

It wasn't a 'paradise' that Europeans ruined, although I'm obviously not denying that recent centuries of European influence has led significantly to where Africa is today.

That'd be great but the second western countries move out, China moves in.

Clearly there's a conundrum here.

Also, current governments have proven they have no interest in distributing their wealth, as they appear to hoard it all unto themselves, as evidence by the broke country of Ethiopia recently announcing they're spending $10b on a new presidential palace and complex.

All being built by Chinese contractors, of course.

Interesting you bring up heart of darkness.

Yes, the Belgian empire was one of the worst in terms of treatment of indigenous populations but there were other messages in that book about different styles of civilisations.
