Not only was Hannan Sarkar the first batsman to be dismissed by the first ball of consecutive tests but he was also dismissed in exactly the same manner - LBW b Collins. He was also dismissed first ball to Collins (bowled) in the first test of the 2002/03 series in Bangladesh.

Sunil Gavaskar is the only other batsman to have been dismissed by the first ball of a test more than once. It happened to him 3 times.

The other noteworthy stat to have come from the day's play was that Habibul Bashar became the first Bangladesh batsman to reach 2000 career runs in test cricket. No others have even reached 1000 although Javed Omar is getting close.

Scores at stumps on Day 3
West Indies 4/559 Declared
Ramnaresh Sarwan 261 not out
Shiv Chanderpaul 101 not out

Bangladesh 2nd Innings 3/66
Habibul Bashar 28 not out
Manjural Islam Rana 7 not out
Pedro Collins 2/17

Bangladesh trail by 209 runs

This is what we call an improvement. Much better than the first test. Chanderpaul's century will now keep him in the side. He was skating on thin ice. Perhaps that will strike him back into test match form.

Sarwan, it's a pity he didn't make 300. I'm surprised Lara didn't declare when Sarwan made his 300. There's still 2 days to go in this test match. Would have taken Sarwan about 10 or so overs to do it.

We have this won. Perhaps Lara should come out more often and say he will stand down as captain if we don't win.

Bangladesh 2ND innings all out 176
Habibul Bashar 77
Manjural Islam Rana 35
Pedro Collins 6/53

West Indies win by an inns and 99 runs
wins 2 test series 1-0

Ramnaresh Sarwan was man of the match and series.
