So a few months after Sam gets the flick. Geoff, Murray and Greg sail off into the sunset and poor old Sam does not get a recall. One of the replacements is a girl.
What is going on?
Lots of upset 2 year olds around Australia tonight.

I was amazed at that too. They piss him off to make room for Greg, and he announces (along with Murray and Jeff) that he is retiring? You'd be massively pissed off if you were him.

I was never a Wiggles kid though, and I have no kids, so I couldn't care less that they are changing. Will be strange whenever I do see them in the media though.

"Wake up Simon" just doesn't have the same appeal as "Wake up Jeff"

At least they didn't do the Hi-5 trick of replacing like for like.Asian chick leaves,in comes new Asian chick.Dorky blond gay looking dude leaves, dorky blond gay looking dude comes in.Curly headed bloke leaves, curly headed bloke comes in.

Emma Watkins who is the new Yellow Wiggle

Wasn't Anthony (the last one standing) the one who had the biggest disagreement with Sam?

I have no idea. Im not that familiar with Wiggles politics :p
I didn't know there was any disagreements. I just thought that they wanted Greg back.

Yes

Couldnt care less about the Wiggles, never liked em, and if I can get my kids (when I have kids) to grow up not knowing they exist, I consider that a job well done.

The Wiggles have a bit of a reputation for being a bit ruthless. Their first album was recorded with a fifth guy, Philip Wilcher. According to him, he came back from an overseas trip to find out they'd recorded a second album without him.

They told him he was no longer needed, and that was it. Later, they re-released the first album minus his contributions and without acknowledging his original involvement.

They were never the same after Syd Barrett left.

I lost interest in them when Keith Moon (aka the Mad Wiggle) died of a drug overdose, they lost their spark after that.

He was the Pete Best of the Wiggles.

The Clarence Walker of The Beatles

There was clearly something going on with Sam, that ended really weird.
I reckon it's going to look odd and creepy now with Anthony up there together with 3 kids who are 30 years younger than him. They've lost the plot a bit.

Still, I'll be seeing them at their farewell show here next week, kid has been looking for it.

I fail to understand why adults really care, there were vox pops in papers today on "Will the Wiggles be the same?"

Who really cares? They are just a massive corporate entity, a very successful one. This just means they will remain so. Kids really don't give a toss who is up there singing if the presenters and songs are engaging. And the average span a kid enjoys the Wiggles would be perhaps three years, so within a short space of time no kids will care about Murray, Jeff and Greg any more...
