Carlton are 3-0 under their interim coach, having defeated Bulldogs, Port Adelaide in AO, and Geelong after starting the season 1-8 under Voss.

There are a lot of winnable games here IMO. Perhaps the only non-winnable games are Hawthorn and Fremantle. Maybe GWS at ENGIE depending on how they keep up after last week’s scintillating win over Brisbane.

We’ve started too far back at 1-8. Going to be tough. But winning feels nice.

Yeah we did 9 in a row after starting the season with a 3-10 record if I remember correctly.

You never know with the wildcard introduction. Only need to finish 10th, and y’all are sitting 12th right now

In May 2 years ago, Hawthorn were 1-6 ish (someone will confirm or correct).

Went to play the Bulldogs at Marvel, were given no chance and won. Like Carlton 2 weeks ago.

Not long after we went to play Port in Adelaide (a Top 4 side then, unlike this year) and found ourselves 40 points up in the third (like Carlton last week). Unlike Carlton we went on to lose that game.

The next week we met the previous season’s beaten grand finalists and won, in another significant upset. Like Carlton last night.

HokBall had emerged and our run all the way to the finals had begun.

Obviously I’m being very selective in what I’m highlighting here. But there’s definitely a few similarities.

Hawthorn’s kinda what inspired this post tbh. That’s probably the last time a club was completely written off due to their start.

Interesting to see if their interim coach can bring them to finals and what that means for him and the senior coaching role

The maximum amount of wins Carlton can get from here is 15. Take out 2-3 against the really tough teams you mentioned and you're potentially looking at a team that's going to finish the season with 12.5 wins if everything goes right. 12.5 wins would've secured 10th position on the ladder last year so there's still hope for Carlton thanks to the introduction of the wildcard playoffs.

If Carlton finish 9th or 10th and win their way into the traditional top 8 finals series via a wildcard weekend win then you're going to see a complete 180 turnaround and a lot of the media/footy fans will suddenly be onboard with the wildcard concept. If we still had the old top 8 system then Carlton would essentially be dead in the water already. The top 10 system gives them hope at the midway point of the season and that's the exact intention of the wildcard concept. It's supposed to keep teams/fans engaged in the season for longer and we're certainly seeing that with Carlton right now.
