Maybe so, but if we are speculating this wildly, I might make the observation that if Adelaide and West Coast do well enough, they may be able to get home PF games. If so Essendon could be the away side in a PF in order to make it to the GF.
Essendon look great at home, but possibly they won't beat good sides when they must travel.

Great effort tonight but let's keep it in perspective. Eagles are depleted.
As I explained, Essendon may very well have to travel and play a good side away in order to get into the GF.
PF matches are not necessarily played in Melbourne. PF matches are elimination finals.
Essendon cannot win the GF, even given that it is played in Melbourne, if they are not playing in it.
