will JON be delisted

Either trade him for a decent pick or hold him. Still very young and is a competitor. He is the utility version of Naitanui. An absolute gun athlete. With experience and education he could be a player. Worth the punt unless we can get something decent. Don't tade him for anything less than a pick in the 20's. You don't want to develop a reputation for not taking the time to develop players properly.

1st rounder are you crazy?,He'd be lucky if he was worth a 5th rounder.

Well, considering JON, who has no skills and hasn't done anything at AFL level is apparently worth a top 20 pick (so, barely just outside the first round) I'd say a guy who has played 86 games straight since his debut and has exceptional skills would most definitely be worth a first rounder.

Trades are a matter of value....

JON's current value is pretty low...The only reason we'd get anything is his potential. The question becomes 'do we think he'll realise that potential?'. I would hope out coaching staff and list managers have a better idea of that we ( or any other club ) would and trades accordingly.

On what I know, I'd probably keep him on the basis that we're unlikely to get enough for him....considering like a pick 60...probably wont work, but worth a shot.

Is unfairly maligned, and is nowhere near as bad as some posters here make out.

Will take time to develop, and should be kept and given to opportunities to grow into his role at the Tigers and become a regular senior player.
I'm sure our crack team of coaches and assistants will be able to mould him into an important part of team.

Well done to TW and his team for identifying talented youth, and being prepared to invest the time and effort to make them into a quality, senior player :thumbsu:

i think JON will be kept...
he will turn oout all right...
look at tambling he has taken a while to come on
What possibly makes you think JON will turn out ok? His form certainly doesn't give that impression.

Tambling has been in the system for 4 years and will be a good HBF at best. Not the midfielder we drafted him to become. Not a good result for the club.

JON's form hasn't been bad enough to suggest that he won't be ok.
He's still developing, and coming along ok.

Rest assured he's in good hands - our youngsters are progressing nicely under some brilliant tutelage.

Well done to TW and his coaching staff for implementing one of the best player development programs in the league, making the Tigers the club of choice for Australia's best young footballers :thumbsu:

^^^ You sound like Kevin Rudd rabbiting on about how "working families have never been better off!" :p

What's your policy on housing affordability Terry?

Eh, have you actually watched him play? He has had 3 years in the system now and for a top 8 pick to still struggle in the VFL does suggest he will most likely not go onto play in the AFL.

nup im sorry, those who think JON will come good have to realise the truth. those people more or less want him to become a good player because of his good draft camp results but the truth is and you all know it is that he isn't the type of player that will be good. Look guys, he has done nothing for us, even though he is young he has done nothing but turn the ball over. im sorry to be negative but he will never become a good player. He just simply has no reason to be at the club anymore. Richmond should realise the mistake and just move on. hope for the best out of future drafts.

in answer to the thread title, - richmond should delist him but our staff 'like' to have faith. people also have to realise that he hasnt got trade value.

i think alot of guys on here do not even watch coburg play and just think because jon was a top 10 pick that he should be carving it up
most likely the same guys who bag tambling
and most likely the same guys who wanted richo traded every year

i would be filthy as a freo supporter if we gave richmond anything more than pick 150 for JON. he is a dud, and because of that fact we may give you pick 3 for him :(

was it JON that kicked a point to win a game with only seconds to go in his debut year? everyone was raving about his poise and the great thought process he had to sum up the situation.

honestly though when he plays VFL, where is he being played? midfield?

Milburn, Kelly, Corey, Wojcinski and Enright were all guns at 20 weren't they. I keep forgetting how God damn good they were!!!!! They'd hardly been sighted.
Harley had been given the flick by one club and Stokes was nearly 22 when he made his debut.
Someone ponted out JON has been in the system 3 years - He was drafted at 17 and only had one full pre season!
Tambling will continue to get better and will be a very very good wingman - He only turned 22 on Friday FFS!

Of course - I don't make any comments on players without some serious forethought.

He is being made to earn his position, and with the right direction and training will surely become a top player for Richmond.
Considering the on field improvement from the Tigers this season, itwoudl have been tough for anyone to break into the side.

Well done to TW and the coaching staff for making each senior position at Richmond a strongly fought contest :thumbsu:
